From Primary Arms:

What does "Special Purchase" mean? MD-RB-AD-FDE-SP comes with a removable 1913 MIL STD Picatinny base. With the base removed, the scope body is NOT compatible with industry standard micro mount systems. The scope body was machined incorrectly at the factory, so MD-RB-AD-FDE-SP is ONLY compatible with the removable base and riser mount that are included with it in the box, and will not fit other aftermarket mounts. MD-RB-AD-FDE-SP is considered a factory blemished optic for this reason.”

Pros: it’s a take down system. So you can put a big ass rifle in a small case. You could also build a second barrel assembly and run a different caliber or swap from a lightweight tactical build to a heavy target build.

Con: the only con I can think of is the lack of decent handguard options available.

This set up has become very popular with AR pistols. The SB Tactical brace provides a great place to store the barrel assembly. A few guys have married the Dolos with the LAW folding adapter. They remove the barrel, fold the pistol brace, then store the barrel in the brace kit. You can fit a decent sized pistol into a VERY small bag.
