Grandson's Gun Candy

Recommended Posts

Here is my oldest Grandson's first AR build, Aero builders set, Faxon barrel with a Wylde chamber, MBT trigger, some Magpul, and Aero for the small parts. He mostly took my advice, I lapped the receiver for him but he did the actual building with my tools. For color he went with clear Cerakote that had some Gun Candy mixed in, not my advice, pictures don't do justice, it really pops in the sun! He had added a RMR on a 22.5 degree mount after we had sighted in the PA scope. He was beside himself because the accuracy went all to crap on him. As soon as I saw the RMR I knew the deal but made him jump through the hoops and find the issue himself with just a few vague instructions on the possible cause. As soon as he pulled the RMR off and saw the rub marks on the scope mount he knew the deal. It's a great feeling to see them learning and solving their own issues.

Spend a good deal of my time at home getting any of the 14 grandchildren to the range that I can. Had the second oldest Grandson and his girlfriend/live-in at the range the next day;

The youngest two the next day, no range pictures with them because I am too slow to keep up as it is, he really is here on this earth JUST FOR THE SHENANIGANS!

Time with these kids is a solid gold investment in my future, no "market forces" will ever change what they learned with me.

14 grand children?  Dayum!  Good work.

Once a kid calls me grandpa I’m in for life, regardless of their parents ever changing relationships. My son and daughter have changed significant others numerous occasions, they dump the other, I keep the grandkids, at present pace I will have a platoon real soon  :thumbup:

I love getting the young ones involved - it's funny when they listen, and start to put it all together-then it "clicks."   Their faces just light up. :thumbup:

Great work, Jim!   :hail:
