GSPKurt
I have a new (to me) LR308. The brass has a 1/4" long diagonal dent in the body after firing. I am guessing the bolt is hitting it as it ejects. I have put on a Pardus 6-position stock. Is this the reason for it (different buffer/spring)? Can something be adjusted to stop this from happening? Thanks in advance.
SWshooter
Dents are usually caused by the brass striking either the edge of the receiver opening, or the brass deflector. They usually don't cause any problems. The sizer will iron alot of it out, and firing pressure will take care of the rest. Of course you'll get a new dent when you fire it. Changing the buffer spring, extractor, extractor spring, or ejector spring may change the ejection pattern. I usually find that guns that really throw the brass into the next zip code, usually dent it too. Too light an operating spring (main spring, buffer spring) is usually the culprit in too forcefull ejection.
