  1. Is the group buy still available?
  2. I think it'll work, but I am still at the low end of the "intermediate" shooter and my knowledge is lacking in ballistics, parts, etc... My initial thoughs is a Mega monolithic combo. Hasn't gotten much farther than that, but they are expensive. Any alternatives I should consider?
  3. Howdy! Been toying with building an AR10 for quite sometime, but was always put off by the weight and ballistics of the .308 since I like to shoot out past 800yds and wanted a light-weight solution for my tact-comp rifle. Was thinking about the 6.5 Grendel, but from what I understand, it's ballistics aren't as good as the .260 way out there. But, it's much lighter. I was hoping a good trade-off would be a 16" .260. I know it's not much of a weight reduction, but it's some plus I hope to get better ballistics than the .308 in an equal lenght barrel. Thoughts? Am I totally off on this one?
  4. Is there a basic list of parts that I need to start building my .308 AR?
  5. New here and don't know much about the internals and workings of rifles/pistols. (Hope that changes soon) From what I've been reading, and my feable attempt to extrapolate data, it seems the more accurate you want to get your rifle, the less reliable it becomes with respect to "eating anything" and functioning while dirty. True? If so, what's the mid-ground?
  6. Hey JGun... I know what you mean. Looking forward to spending a lot of time here to learn and hopefully return the favor one day.
  7. Howdy folks! New member here from Maryland. Was doing some research on building me a .308 and ran across 308ar.com. This'll be my first attempt at building anything rifle related and I am very excited about it and this site. Basically, I want to build a hybrid AR that can be used as an all around rifle: CQB, decent reach, good accuracy, reliable and eat almost everything. Hopefully that's possible? :) Anyway, glad to be here.
