Hi all. I have been away for awhile. I was wondering if anyone here has actual bullets down range from an AR 10 in .338 Federal chambering? You know, tax return money coming in and all that. All information will be greatly appreciated.

Rifle started as a carry handle (A2) upper that i bought from a friend. I bought the complete lower from Armalite. Shot it for awhile, decided to make it into a flat-top. Bought the stripped lower a month ago on sale. Accumulated needed tools etc, and will make the conversion tonight. 6 position stock, free float tube from Model 1, Armalite flat-top receiver, Armalite complete lower. Gonna glass it, add a BUIS, and use it as a hog rifle. I'll take pics before and after, and try to post them. Red.

Hi all, Here's my question. What rear buis options will work with the standard FSB. I am swapping out my carry handle upper for a flat-top upper and wondered if there are compatible rear sights, or do I have to go the new gas block route, with a new front sight as well? If this is not a violation of protocol, I will obviously have a gently used carry handle upper for sale, after the surgery. Thanks, in advance for any and all help from the forum. Red.

Well now I'm wondering if I made a mistake. Ater reading all of the various posts in re proper buffers, springs, etc as applies to AR 10's, here is my question. I acquired a Standard Armalite upper with a 20 inch barrel from a rifle made about 8-9 yrs ago. It has +/- 800-900 rds thru it. Then I ordered the Armalite L10PCB lower with the 6 position stock. (see earlier post). Mated the two together, and went shooting. Rifle functioned perfectly, and since I shot it a couple of times since, I haven't opened it up yet. What have I done <dontknow>, or am I doomed to break my gun ;) Thanks for the input, in advance. Red.

Hello All. Redbaron8 here. Went to the range yesterday with my new AR 10. Armalite thru and thru. Ended up putting a A2 type upper onto an L10PCB lower (nib). WOW!!! Rang the three hundred yd gong w/1st shot. Upper came from a friend of mine, and was already dialed in. Dropped it on and lit it up! Whoopee! It only had about 900 rds thru it b4 I got it. He decided he wanted a flattop upper. So, about $700.00 later I have the .308 I've been wanting. It's a perfect partner for my Armalite Nat. Match .223 w/carry handle. Accurate as all &*%%. The collapsible stock is terrific, and the felt recoil is minimal, feels like shooting the heavier NM. I've been lookin around for a free float fore-end like the one that comes with the NM. Must be looking in the wrong places tho, as I don't seem to be able to find it. Suggestions, please. Secondly, I am looking for a fixed power 6-8x compact scope with mil-dot reticle. ($250-$500) Suggestions, anyone? And lastly, I'm looking for a low profile, quick release carry handle mount. Thank all of you in advance for any assistance you may offer. Armalites rock! Hi 98. I definitely want mil-spec, hate rattles. Like the ones I've seen with the battery storage, and the raised triangular longitudinal profile, so as to create a ?cheek piece? Sorry but I don't remember who makes it. There are a lot of trigger options out there. I demand safety and reliability, but I would also like target grade performance. I will use the rifle to hunt deer and hogs with, as well. Any recommendations as to buffer and spring combos are welcome as well. You know there are a lot of electrons running aimlessly around the Internet, many of which are of dubious value/veracity, so I figured the best place to cut through the smoke would be a 308 specific forum. Hello to all! Red Baron here from Texas. I've been shooting for more than 40 years and reloading for 35. Been shooting DCM, skeet, trap, paper, dirt clods, tannerite, and damn near any thing else that didn't leave range mess. Got several AR 15's. And now I have an Armalite .308 upper. Now to build the lower. Gonna stick with Armalite for the receiver, but am open to suggestions as to stock (6 pos), trigger, and any other useful additions you all can suggest. Thanks for havin' me!
