  1. Would be after the holidays, definitely, due to recent AR-10 purchase. But I do like Armalite guns. But never saw an Armalite 5.56 gun with a 1:7 barrel. If one were to request a 1:7 barrel, can you do one with the midlength gas system? Thanks.
  2. Thank you very much for the photos showing your technique to install the MOE handguard. It is a VERY useful response. I did write back to GG&G asking about why their standard BUIS flip rear sight would not work well with the AR-10. I received another VERY useful and courteous response... When I say "fold around" I am speaking about the "ear" or rear tab above the charging handle that is narrower than the rail itself. Its hard to explain so I'll use pictures. The AR10 is on the right and a AR15 on the left. See the flat area above where the charging handle would be, It is shorter and wider on the AR10 This picture shows how the A2 sight folds around this area on a AR15. [img width=810 height=607]http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l590/RowlandParks/009-1.jpg This picture shows how on a AR10 it can not fold down because the receiver is wider and shorter. [img width=810 height=607]http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l590/RowlandParks/011.jpg This picture shows how well the MAD rear sight sits on a AR10. It lays flat and overhangs the receiver so it is easily deployed even with gloves on. [img width=810 height=607]http://i1125.photobucket.com/albums/l590/RowlandParks/012.jpg Feel free to email or call me if you have more questions. That's what I'm here for. Shane Worley Product Specialist GG&G, Inc. Shane Worley has been prompt, courteous and extremely helpful in his responses. I'm now sold on the GG&G Flip Up Front Sight for the AR-10 and the GG&G MAD BUIS for a rear sight.
  3. Good deal. Does Armalite make a 1:7 twist barrel?
  4. I contacted GG&G about the front sight and rear sight I mentioned above. Here is the answer I got... The Flip Up Front Sight For AR-10 Dovetailed Gas Blocks" (P/N: GGG-1323) will be the correct height to use with our rear sights. I recommend our MAD BUIS P/N: GGG-1006 for a AR10. It is our lowest profile rear sight. The A2 sight is made to fit around the rear of an AR15 upper receiver when folded. A AR10 upper receiver is wider and the A2 will not fold down properly around it. Shane Worley Product Specialist GG&G, Inc.
  5. Thanks for the responses. I'll check out the options that have been presented. With respect to the BUISs: I think I prefer GG&G to the MI. I want to put a Magpul MOE handguard on the rifle and understand that there may not be sufficient clearance for the MI front sight to fold backwards with that handgaurd installed. And I don't care for it folded forward. This is obviously the GG&G for the AR-10: http://www.gggaz.com/flip-up-front-sight-for-ar-10-dovetailed-gas-blocks.html Will this GG&G rear sight work with that front sight? http://www.gggaz.com/a2-back-up-iron-sight-buis.html
  6. Hi folks. I'm a new member. Hoping to get some help. Don't be too hard on me if these have been asked before :): 1) I need some recommendations for BUISs (front and rear). The gas block plane is lower than the reciever plane so I know I need a front sight that accomodates that difference. Other than the MI sights on the Armalite website, are there any others? 2) I'd like to replace the stock and handguards with Magpuls. I understand the buffer tube on the Armalite AR-10 is mil-spec. I'm assuming a Magpul ACS (mil spec) will work? What about MOE hand guards (mid length), any problems there? 3) I'm going to be mounting a Burris 1.5X-6X Xtreme Tactical. I want a quick detachable mount. Any suggestions? Thanks.
