I was planning on buying a DPMS SASS Barrel for my .308 MA-TEN build, but I saw that the barrel is actually stamped 7.62x51. DPMS's website says "18" .308 SASS Barrel" but then in the description they say it is chambered in 7.62x51mm. However, the description of their Panther LRT SASS complete rifle says 7.62 NATO/.308 win (I am assuming this rifle uses the 18" .308 SASS barrel). Therefore, this leads me to believe it is ok to shoot .308 win out of this barrel, it this true? Also, if you can shoot .308 win out of this barrel what headspace gauges should be used, 7.62x51mm or 308 win?
