Just installed my new extractor. I agree with the above post. New spring is made differently and definitely tough to install. I think my fingertips may be sore for a bit. Does what it should when cycling manually now. Hopefully make a range trip in the next day or to confirm.

I think I'm going to assemble it without an o-ring. I'll throw a couple in my range bag just in case. I have about 100 rounds of steel case ammo left so I'm going to eventually shoot it. But I think all my future ammo will be brass.

Just sharing my experience. I bought a used Bushmaster LR-308 a while back. From what I gather, these are built by DPMS. Anyway, I have about 400 rounds through the gun and am now replacing the extractor. I really don't know how much it has been shot but I am just now starting to wear the finish off the contact surfaces of the bolt carrier. I was probably asking for it by shooting Brown Bear through it. Lesson learned lol. One question, o-rings. I read a bit online about using them to increase extractor tension. Necessary?? Seems like it could potentially shorten the life of my new extractor Going to try to stick with brass ammo in the future.

I assume it was bought as an ORC or MOE model. Receiver is marked LR-308. It has a 16" chrome lined barrel with Bushmaster markings. The gas system is mid-length. Previous owner installed a Daniel Defense 9.0 Lite Rail, ACS stock, YHM gas block with incorporated flip up front sight. It has a Magpul rear sight, MOE grip and MOE trigger guard. He also replaced the buffer with a hydraulic unit that I saw on midway's site but can't recall the brand. I hope that helps. I will get some pics up ASAP. Most importantly: it seems to shoot very well and functions great lol.

Hello, I recently bought a Bushmaster LR-308 that was per-owned. Previous owner put several accessories on it prior to trading it in to my local shop. I have a question regarding the rail system mentioned in the title. After its first trip to the range, I noticed I could (spin)? The rail slightly. Only about a millimeter or two. Now it's fairly tough to do but I can move it. I loosened the six screws and retorqued them and it seems to have snugged up some. Has anyone else experienced this?? It doesn't appear to be too much of an issue. Just wondering if I should try anything else to lock it down. Thanks.
