Hi guys, I am back. We just ordered 3 AR-10's and a Armalite AR15 (can't remember designation- It has the New wylde chamber?) from Armalite for the PD. Still loving my AR-10 with the Troy sights (yeah I still have to get pics) and Limbsaver buttpad on the CS. Question- Anyone using a Eotech 552-XR308 sight on their AR-10? We have the Eotech 512's and I was wondering if the latter was any better. Qualifications are up to 100 yrds. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!

I am a little late in replying. All I want to say is "Armalite made things right". After the debacle with the LE rep. (called him and emailed him for almost 3 months)and the Chief calling Armalite and leaving messages to every possible voice mail explaining our problem, The next day a representative called back!!!!!! Chief said he was very nice and apologized for the inconvenience. He gave us prices and wait time. We did received several AR10 mags for a our Patrol Rifles. They are very busy and wait time is 6 months for LE too. Chief couldn't have been more happy and given more praise for the rep. that called him. Thank you Armalite!!!!!! BTW- We are now issued Hornady Critical Defense ammo- with the red tips. I will look at the box when I get back to work for grns. etc.

We were pretty pissed. 2 months and no reply to numerous emails and voice mails. We went so far as to call RR and S&W for prices on their AR10 equivalents. Each stated they had a 6-9 month wait or more on .223's and even longer on .308's. I happened to make a mistake in the extension numbers at Armalite yesterday. Sounded like I had someone important voice mail. Left a Message and our problems- BAM!!!! received a phone call today!!!!! Great experience.

Received a Call from Armalite today. The Rep. was very nice and apologized for the delay and the actions of the other Rep. He stated they are very, very busy (which I knew and expected, but at least Rep. originally called could have answered his phone and emails- thats water over the dam now). We had a good conversation. They are backed up for 9-12 months. They try to get LE guns out sooner, but still 6-7 months. Prices are still very good. Appears as though they are about $5-10 more than last year. I am very happy with Armalite now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SPB, Sorry for the late reply. Yes I will take pics ASAP. and Part numbers. I am still Pissed at Armalite. They have not returned our calls. We want to order 4 rifles and Magazines. We told them in Emails and calls. Guess I will have to ask for a Supervisor or Boss at Armalite. We emailed them in early December for the mags., told them they were for LE- NO REPLY! This was December 17th. before all of the Newtown backlash and OBAMA nonsense.

They said it wasn't rust. It was some type of lube/paste used in the assembly/machining process that sat for a while and turned color and solidified

Hey all, received the upper today. All looks good. Will shoot her when weather breaks. Thank you ArmaLite! Now, hopefully I can get some mags soon.

imschur, Will probably try him again on Monday. One main problem is we need to order 4 more rifles and numerous magazines. These are duty rifles. Magazines are much needed. btw- we called too!

We have been trying to contact them since Decemeber 17th. I am aware of shot show. Someone has to be manning the ship.

Still waiting for my Upper to come back from Armalite. Its only been a month. They said that what appeared to be rust is a lube or coating of some sort. Mario at Armalite is the only person who replies to Phone calls and Emails. LE rep. hasn't responded to several emails.

Well I received a reply from Armalite. They are having me ship her back for inspection. <thumbsup> I did find out she was born on 5/2010. She was new "old" stock. Mr. R- Not sure if it was the dealer or not. I am just glad Armalit is taking care of it. I ended up getting the Troy H&K style front sight. Thanks guys.

Well, Now I am really not happy. Started to clean my AR 10 for the barrel break in. We were cleaning her at the station last night. While in the process, I discovered at large amount of rust around the chamber area where the bolt locks up. I had a lot of trouble removing it and not sure I got it all. When I went home I did a google search and found that there have been similar problems (see picture grabbed from AR15.com). The picture is similar to my problem. I am pretty concerned now. I sent a email to Armalite and plan on calling them on Monday. I haven't even shot her yet!!!!!!!! She was BNIB from a LGS. I am not happy!!!!!!!!!

Put on the Limbsaver pad, Hogue Handgrip and Troy sights. Pad fit well. Handgrip is nice and Sights went on well. I like the sight picture!!! Now, if only I could get out and shoot her!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Guys, Received my Troy Ind. sights today. I bought the flip up H&K style front sight for mounting on the lower gas block and the flip up rear sight. I won't get out to shoot for a while, but I'll let ya know how it goes mounting them on. I also ordered the Limbsaver pad for the collapsible stock.

im, Yes on the handguard. Will they fit the AR10??? Reason I ask is they don't list AR10 on there. Not sure which sights I want to go with-The Troy Ind. or MI. It appears as though the Troy sights get the best votes. I can get either on Amazon, save a little money, and put them on my account. Thanks for your help

Hey Unforgiven, Checked my AR10 today. The railed Gas block "is not" in the same plane- it is lower. Any idea what the adapter is? Any idea of which BUIS set I should get??? Thanks for any and all help.

Thanks Guys!!!! OK, sooooooooooooo -my AR10 is at the station (can't check it now). Guess I better check the height of the Gas Block????? or doesn't it matter? <dontknow> Some tool told me I could not use the Magpul sights because the Gas Block will melt them-True?????? <dontknow> Please excuse my ignorance. :-[ I have been issued a Colt M4 with Carry Handle and A2 sights for years. I bought the AR10 cause I wanted more stopping power. Looking to you guys to grab my hand and guide me in the right direction. Thanks again for being patient. OBTW- I will be buying a EoTech for it soon- well hopefully soon

Hi all, new Armalite AR10 owner. I just bought a new AR-10A4CF <thumbsup>. I have been doing a lot of research on which brand, finally chose the Armalite. One thing I am having trouble finding is which Flip up/Back up sights are best or recommended for the Armalite AR10 flat tops w/o front sight. My Gas black also has the picatinny rail. Armalite sells the MI flip ups, but they are expensive and I think I may be able to get them cheaper thru the "A" site or The "EB" sight. Armalite has their own model/stock number on them so it is hard to shop around for the right sights. I was also looking at the Troy industries sights- but again, not sure which model/type to use on my AR10. Another question- I thought I saw somewhere a picture of a Magpul Polymer handguard on a AR10. I cant seem to find any info. on it. I do like the looks of it and would like to put one on my AR10- Any thoughts????? Thanks for any and all help!!!!!! Don
