  1. Well I was granted permission to get a Nikon M-223 with a Burris AR-P.E.P.R. mount. Couple that with the American Trigger SR Gold Trigger System, I'm HOPEFUL my grouping will improve. If not....I've got issues! Not sure WHAT to do after that if I can't get a good 100 yrd grouping :'(
  2. Good thing I've got that AR gold trigger assembly on order!
  3. You speak'ah my language now! I understand perfectly 8) I'm assuming the Burris AR-PEPR meets spec then right?
  4. After reading most of the day it appears to be the scope. I'm using a Tasco 4-16x40 scope. Which doesn't look like it's UP to the TASK of the punishment of the .308 I'll be ordering either a Redfield® Revolution™ or a Nikon Monarch ($350 budget) soon and swapping that out. This should fix the issue (I hope) Bear in mind I'm no expert. New to Scope's and optics altogether, so learning this as I go along. I'll keep the Tasco for a bolt action .22 in the future
  5. My buddy and I were dumbfounded at the actual difference so I wanted to come on here and confirm our finding. Never had a CLUE that ammo could cause such a variation. (cheap .22 at 100yrds yes...but .308? WOW) Sound advice. I will do just that. I already know what it seems to like for accuracy! Thanks I thought I made that clear. Apparently I failed to do so.
  6. Does ammo vary THAT much? I had some Remington Match Grade (I believe) 165 gr that I used to sight in the scope at 100yrds I was able to consistently nail the target within a 3" group. And for ME, that's phenomenal! I then switched over to some 150 gr PMC target and was utterly SHOCKED. I couldn't hit the center of my target for crap. And I was anything but consistent. I was 4"-6" to the left and down, then 5" to the right low. This continued for 10 more rounds. I switched to some magtech.....not even sure what grain (package didn't have info) with the same results as the PMC. Kinda all over the target nothing consistent. Switched back to the match grade, and 3" dead center again. WTH?!?! BTW.... Bushmaster BR-308 MOE
  7. Well....I went touring for a bit with a bird (something look familiar?) rode it to Key West Then went busa Rode it to mexico Then I got all sophisticated [img width=810 height=569]http://www.troybaker.com/bmw/black14.jpg Rode it to Canada Then had to get back on the track [img width=810 height=508]http://www.troybaker.com/r1/r1031.jpg Then I got the motard bug OH MAN it was fun on the track! That was me passing Cliff on Patriot <laughs> Then I decided the motard was fun enough and the R1 hurt my arse! [img width=810 height=585]http://www.troybaker.com/bmw/rt/rt068.jpg I kept the RT but sold the motard after 4 track days and the desire to get back on the track more and got a GSXR750 for track only [img width=810 height=606]http://www.troybaker.com/gsxr/gsxr029.jpg Had plans to ride the RT to Cali with Brian (ducinnc) in the fall of 2009 But we were railing tuggles on motards when he decided to wheelie his KTM 950 SM JUST before the last corner coming down (that really tight left hander before the last right hand sweaper) and ran straight off the side of the mtn into a 4ft wide oak. He died instantly. I didn't stop riding. I kept riding street for a year, but just lost the passion. I had the GSXR taped up and track bodied for a monday track day when my buddy Brad called me to do a sunday Shady run. They all had sportbikes and mine was ready for VIR full. He talked me into taking the RT. I can't just ride SLOW on a Shady ride! <munch> so of course I started passing thru the group till I was up front leading. Just before we got to Damascus I rounded a corner with pea gravel all the way across the road. So of course I was the one who got to test the gripping ability of that pea gravel! gravel won. On the ride home (busted fairings but ridable) I decided to get off the street and do something more family/life insurance friendly. I sold the RT and the GSXR in 2 days and went dirty full time [img width=810 height=607]http://www.troybaker.com/dirt/line1.jpg Well.....I still own leathers though 8) [img width=810 height=773]http://www.troybaker.com/drwb/kart10.jpg
