I had a CMC trigger on my 5.56 DPMS and loved it! Unfortunately he is incredibly backordered... I spoke to him right after shot show and had a great conversation for about 35 minutes.

Well, I absolutely hate the factory trigger, so a replacement is in order before I even go to sight it in. Suggestions (that are currently in stock and under $175)?

Was looking around at the products from Rainier and came across the Mega Tactical Trigger. Anyone know if this will work in the LR308? http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=1852

so will any JP/VTAC work, or only specific ones?

Could someone educate me on the right Micro gas block. to purchase? There are so many different diameters and port sizes how do I know which 1 is the right 1 for my rifle?

I don't mind humping it in. Will mostly be sitting in a ground level blind waiting for the pigs to come to me, and I've got a tripod to use for shooting. I can't seem to find the JP VTAC or the DPMS (and the rep advised me to stay with the carbine length 4 rail or I'd have to mill the gas block? that can't be right) in stock anywhere. DPMS said 3 weeks for the high profile rail. Ideally the JP would be the best solution, and add 1 or 2 short rails for my hog light at either 3 or 9 position. Any help on locating these? And ammo at less than .90/per round?

Does anyone know if the Troy Industries BattleRail TRX-308 12" (model number strx-e3a-12bt-01) will work?

First off, I'm very happy I found this site. Posts are helpful and nobody seems to be carrying an attitude, which I appreciate. I bought a used LR-308, apparently never fired - absolutely 100% condition. Smooth sided upper, no forward assist, no dust cover, and an 18" heavy barrel. I don't have a caliper, so using a tape measure the height of the rail above the surface of the upper receiver appears to be 3/4". The front hand guard which has only a swivel stud for a sling is 7.5" long. The gas block height is above the height of the hand guard and apparently the same height as that of the receiver rail. It has a standard A2 stock. I have already purchased a Magpul PRS in FDE. I'd like to find a rail system, and from the DPMS rep it would be a standard length free float, but he indicated that only a DPMS high style free float rail will work, and I will need to change the gas block to a micro. If anyone else has already gone through this changeout, and can confirm or offer alternative choices for the rail, I would be greatly appreciative. There are some feral hogs out there with my name on them who eagerly await my arrival.
