  1. Right!, Almost a good thing though because I would have been a blackthorne victim. But I know it, I am waiting on all kinds of stuff, because of it and I paid a slight premium for some things to have them quick. But I refuse to be into the 2x + prices so I wait. :( It is tough because I have been told I have the patience of a rattlesnake.
  2. I have been on plenty of forums, I understand how fickle they can be. There are a lot of keyboard commandos. I am stoked I found something that will work. Wish money grew on trees, with all the ammo I am going to need, I started pricing out the Dillon reloaders, sure it would pay for itself in a year and the cost looks attractive up front, then you add the extras and boom, like building one of these it gets pricey fast.
  3. One step at a time for me. I am way overspent so just getting it running for now will be fine. I think the Red X will work. Just disappointing they will not give some kind of lead time. Will the Rock River A2 buttstock for the AR10 fit a DPMS lower? When I say over spent... coming soon sig p290, UZI, bolt action 30-06, 1911 all in the works on top of what I have.
  4. $579 for a .308 plus you need the bolt! I am not that inconvenienced by a rear charging handle. You are going to lose your sight picture either way.
  5. Got it. So which one does then? I am used to the rear charging handle on ARs. This sounds like you are talking about an AR that is similar to my AK.
  6. I am also a Lefty can you explain what you mean by "non reciprocating charging handle"? and ASA is short for?
  7. Thanks MaDeuce. I immediately dropped the Blackthorne plan when i saw all the other comments. I am looking at Red X (another thread I started) Great video
  8. Well everything I am seeing is 900+ and some are even $2000. considering before the chaos you could buy an entire rifle for this price it seems prices are a bit high. I have a colfax tactical that was 100% machined. I put a DPMS lower parts kit in it. It will be .308 I have been looking around and reading, still trying to figure out the good from the bad. I found Red X Arms reasonable, but are they any good? http://shop.redxarms.com/RXA-308-X-TREME-20-BULL-UPPER-30820BULLUH.htm
  9. Hey Guys, I am looking to get a complete upper 20" with free float barrel. I want something that is quality but reasonably priced. Any recommendations? This format would be good Brand Price Link Reason Thanks.
  10. Ok a crowd right up my ally. But in assembling the lower last night I noticed that the bolt catch spring fell in way too far and was useless. I am thinking they drilled the hole too deep. Anyways I will start a thread in the appropriate forum about the build. Continue with the stripper talk. Pics welcome lol.
  11. Ok so once the bank is drained building it I can keep it at a zero balance by shooting it, Nice. Good news is I got it with a DPMS lower parts kit, so I guess I can start assembling it. I noticed the for sale section is sparse and quiet lately lol So a buttstock is next. Anyone know who has an A2 in stock?
  12. Thanks for the heads up guys. One of the reason I do like forums. Guess it is time to start searching then. Well at least my parts kit will be here tomorrow so I can get my M4 back up and running again. Stopped by Acadamy tonight to get some ammo of course they were out of most of what I wanted so I grabbed a box of .308 Yikes, stuff is pricey. Any recommendations?
  13. So I bought a Colfax Tactical stripped lower (just in case the ban was for real) with the intent of building it later. It was 100% machined but needed a finish (it was raw aluminum) so I put the Duracoat tactical black on it. It came out pretty good I would say a couple minor runs and some deep parts did not quite coat. Anyways i am looking at Blackthorne Products for the rest of the kit when they get them back in stock. This will be my long range rifle with a Nikon scope. I have a DPMS lower parts kit I got with it but I will most likely sell it. BTW name is Mark. Glad to be here. My collection is coming along nicely. Cheers,
