It extracted/ejected just fine even when it was short stroking. However, before I put in the AR10 gas tube the bolt cycled back far enough to eject but not far enough to pick up a new round or hold-open on an empty mag. With the short gas tube you could feel the sluggishness in the bolt. Now it feels like an auto loading .308 should feel and cycles like an auto loading .308 should cycle. The 165gr stuff not cycling doesn't bother me. I just tested it because I had it, and to be honest it could be because the ammo is simply old stock. The most abundant ammo I have is 155gr TAP and it cycles just fine, and if it aint broke (for my purposes) I'm not going to "fix" it.

Well, It worked. I didn't clean my rifle since the last range session and it's functioning at least 200% better with the correct (or incorrect depending on how you look at it) gas tube, a dry bolt, and month old carbon residue. My gun ran through a box of 168gr Federal match and a box of 155gr TAP without short stroking once. It did not, however, cycle once with 165gr Federal bonded (at least dirty it didn't). The bonded stuff was short stroking the gun on every shot just like before.... But at least it liked 2 out of the 3 of my available ammo types. Thank you again Lancer for starting this thread and everyone else for adding. $12 gas tube (1/3 of 1% of the total cost of the gun).

I went to Criterion's website (the folks that make Fulton's barrels) and they seem to think that "AR10 match grade barrels are designed for DPMS/Remington/FA pattern rifles."...... their words, not mine (http://criterionbarrels.com/products/ar-10-barrels). It could explain the mix-up, but I'm at loss as to how a barrel manufacturer and parts/rifle company can both overlook something like that..... Maybe I'm just hung up on nomenclature, or maybe its just a marketing/website gaff...... Or maybe (likely) they really don't know the difference and are putting AR10 barrels in to LR308 based rifles. P.S. I ordered my AR10 gas tube from Delta3 and it should be here soon. I'll post the results (good or bad) by next week.

(As of this posting) I checked with 762SASS and they are out of the full length gas tubes. As for Armalite, they charge $16 to ship a $12 tube. DSG seems reasonable ($6 for 2-day USPS or $24 for 3 day UPS?... WTF?)..... Like I said, I'll post later when I get the part and try it on the range.

I've been having the same problem (short-stroke/short tube) with my Fulton FAR308 upper and all the posts here have been very helpful. So thank you all for the lively and active discussion. The other reason I'm chiming in is because I've also been looking for an AR10 gas tube, and I've also come across Delta3tactical.com as a resource for AR10 parts. After reading this forum post I sent Delta3 an email asking them if they resolved the tube length problem and got a phone call (no kidding) two minutes later. The caller explained that they erroneously sent you the wrong tube and apologized to me (for some reason) for the mix up. He said he had the AR10 tube in front of him (while we talking on the phone) with a ruler and it was exactly 15-1/2". I'll chime back in when I get my tube and either verify or neigh-say this as a fix for Fulton FAR308 rifles with incorrect gas tubes, barrels, or what ever is going on that is making the guns short-stroke (I've ruled out the buffer, springs, mags, & ammo. If this doesn't fix it I'm gonna go insane).... Because Lancer and I aren't the only people having this problem and Fulton can be a stone wall some times.
