Armalite said ring dia. was out of spec. They have 20.00 min. order so they just put ring in envelope and sent it out no charge. Two thumbs up for Armalite! Roy

Took an AR10-B Carbine in trade and on disassembly the bolt was very loose, It has McFarland Gas Ring installed and checking with micrometer showed Dia. of ring to be .628" Armalite states that they should measure .646 to .649. Should I just replace the rings and then shoot it or shoot it and see how it performs first, if this is safe to do? Also I am at a loss to decide which rings to use McFarland or 3 piece as there are many conflicting views on which are the best. Any advice would be appreciated. Roy

Don't have one yet. Trading an AAC MPW 16" in 300 Blackout for an AR10B 16" on Friday. Found the site on an internet search and here I am. Going to shoot it for while and evaluate performance before making any enhancements or changes. Looks like a well run forum with plenty of information on 308 ARs. Thanks for letting me in. Roy
