I'm over here in Cantonment,however I attend the Robertsdale Gun Show twice a year or so. Great show,different that the "same ol' - same ol' shows over here(P'cola and Milton). More small vendors with some down to earth prices than the bigger gun shops with everything marked UP from MSRP. --- pruhdlr

UPDATE --> Got a new Fortis Switch 308 Rail on the way. 12.42 long and 8.7oz. This,for my Bushmaster 308 AR. Anyone have any expierance with these. Coming from Ranier Arms BTW. ----pruhdlr

Thanks for this guys. I just got a ANIB Bushmaster(older mod with the high upper)and will start the break-in process after I throw on several add on parts. On some of my other AR's(300BLK,5.56,6.8SPCII) I actually use grease in some of the more prone to wear spots. Mainly the inside of the bolt carrier,outside of the bolt,inside of the upper,locking lugs,the cam pin and its channel. I also lube the FCG with some Tetra Gun and or Abu Garcia Reel Lube. Then ....... I generally keep everything wet with Break Free CLP. --- pruhdlr

Just got a NIB Bushmaster 308 ORC (#90702) and am starting to "make it mine" by adding some different parts. Am adding a trigger guard,buttstock,pistol grip,charging handle,got some MagPul 10 shot mags on the way,ambi safety,pretty much decided on the trigger,also got a linear comp coming,BUT.......can't seem to find a hand guard that I like/want. I do not really need a carbon fiber unit however I would like to get one that is fairly light. I would like it to be 12.5 or 13 inches long to just cover the gas assy(no front sight). What do ya'll have on your guns and where do I get one ?? It kinda amazed me that some of the big AR15 hand guard manufacturers do not offer anything for the 308/AR's. Can't find a thing from YHM and the like. Nothing from MagPul either. Hmmmmm .............. ?? --- pruhdlr

I am retired USN(E-9) and a "retired" Master Maine Guide. After only 23 years in the USN I retired in Maine(age 40) after my last two tours as a S.E.R.E. Instructor. I became a guide and worked guiding moose,bear,deer,coyote,and crow hunters. After 20 or so years of doing that,when older and the cold really started to hurt,I moved back "home" to the Pensacola,Fla. area. I now hunt deer in the hunting club that I belong to and also hogs and coyotes at night using a thermal scope on top of a 6.8/AR. I enjoy reloading and reload for 13 different chamberings in both rifle and pistol. This is my first time owning a 7.62/308 AR. (Just bought a Bushmaster 308ORC. I do own 5 others chambered in 223/5.56,6.8SPCII,300BLK and 50Beowulf. Hope to both learn,and teach,on this forum. Thanks for having me. --- pruhdlr
