  1. The rifle is going to be primarily used for hunting and target shooting. I want to use the best possible parts I can while staying reasonable. I almost have the lower complete. This is everything I have and plan on getting. •MEGA ARMS MATEN billet ambi recievers •Geisselle SSA-E •V7 weapon systems ambi 57° safety selector •Hogue overmolded grip w/ beavertail Ordering soon: •Magpul UBR •Slash's extra heavy buffer and spring •BAD Titanium Enhanced Pin Set Plans for Upper Reciever: •Fulton Armory 18.5" match barrel (not certain on which one, medium weight vs. Light weight chrome lined) •Fulton Armory Matched NiB BCM •SLR Rifleworks Adjustable Gas Block •15" Free Float hand guard (not certain on which one yet, I need to decide which barrel first) •Jake Brake Muzzle Brake I really need to figure out which barrel I need and that will be the last thing I need to figure out. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
  2. I don't like the real cylindrical look. I like the angle and edges that the sampson has. But the troy does look really good. I'll look into lancer and jp. Thanks
  3. Does anyone know of any other 15 inch handguards that are compatible with the MATEN? I believe they have to work with the dpms barrel nut and with the high profile upper. I've looked at the following Troy Samson Midwest Industries SWS Apex Right now I'm leaning more toward the samson or troy, if anyone knows of any others, i'd appreciate it if you please let me know.
  4. We try not to let anything slip by, but then again. There will always be those very seldom occasions where they do. But you are 100% accurate, it is how the company chooses to deal with the situation.
  5. I see what you're saying. But after reading I took apart my ar-15 and the bcg in it was really smooth. So I thought maybe the ones I was seeing online were indeed bad. But I'll get one and just see for myself. Thanks for the info
  6. The bad info I read on those bcg's were that they weren't machined to a smooth surface and that they made a horrible sound when slid into the upper receiver. And people were seeing bad premature wear in their uppers as well. I completely understand if their manufacturer had some parts slip through that weren't quite to spec. I work as an inspector in a machine shop and all I deal with is tight tolerances and certain finishes. But I also do see how the phosphate coating could penetrate those tool marks left from the machining. But I would much rather have a nib bcg that is machined to a very smooth finish on the 4 points that make contact with the receiver. And if that's the case with rainier and fultons then I would purchase either. If I purchased the fulton barrel I would most likely get their nib bcg.
  7. I've looked at NiB BCG's. From what I've read about the 762 industries and rainiers NiB BCG's the machining is horrible and the finish is the same. Does anyone have personal experience with the fulton NiB BCG. I just don't want to get something that isn't what is advertised, like what people are getting from rainier and 762.
  8. When you say "buy the bolt at the same time" do you mean that he also sells bolts that he will headspace for you. Or do you mean that I have to buy the bolt from a different manufacturer and send it in for him to head space it to my barrel.
  9. I am really liking that 18.5 Fulton. Does anyone know if they can match a bolt to the barrel for me. Or is all that up to me. I know the jp comes with a match bolt. Just wondering if Fulton may offer the same. The price on it is pretty low. So if there is no way to get a match bolt from them. What would be the best thing to do? Buy a complete BCG or piece one together?
  10. Those are really nice, do they have a good reputation. I have only been doing research for about 2 weeks and I have only heard about them a couple of times
  11. Those OBR's are pretty nice. I'm definitely going to look into them more in the future. I just gotta find out what barrel and parts I'm putting in my upper. I almost have all the parts for my lower. Debating between an 18 and 20 inch. Just gotta find what manufacturer.

  13. Yeah, I've looked at the LMT's they are very nice. I wouldn't mind having one in the future. But I've been itching to build something on the A-R platform. And now that I've been researching .308 builds, there's no way I'm not going to build it from the ground up. But I would definitely look into buying a completed one in the future. I just want to build one first.
  14. I have no budget. Money is not an issue. And if it's my first build or my last, I'm going to use good parts. I want the gun to be the best it can be, that way if the shooting isn't good, Like you said, it could be me. And the only reason I was looking at the jp bolt carriei is because I was planning on having a jp bolt and barrel. And I didn't want to deal with potential fitment issues mixing parts. I like the jp bolt carrier because of it's quality and reputation. If jp made a full mass carrier for .308, I would be all over it.
  15. That's crazy. Is it just for fun? What's the purpose for going that short?
