  1. According to the manufacturer the flash-hider was derived from the one on the FN FAL. I have seen the difference between the original one on the HK41 and this one, and it´s decisive.
  2. Here is my flash-hider: It will be installed after the IPSC Rifle National Championships :)
  3. Hmm, since I do live in Germany my options are somewhat limited. Anyway, thanks for the advice. So, I chose one from a personal friend of mine: http://shop.gunworks.de/index.php?page=product&info=73 Pictures will follow :)
  4. One last detail is still missing: the flash hider. But that´s being worked on :)
  5. At last I got the handguard I wanted. Iron Sights installed, too :) Here´s a first pic:
  6. Hi there, over here in Germany we have a pseudo-socialist regime calling itself "social-democratic". The only choice the people has over here is to vote about who they will give the power to control and over-regulate their lives. Gun laws are extremely restrictive over here. People get killed over 2 bucks beaten to death by thugs. Burglaries are on the rise while people are denied the means to take responsibility for their own safety in their own hands and defend their lives. Concealed carry is possible without any problems only for - guess who - thugs/politicians, their security detail and other state institutions like the police or military. Although these are not trusted with guns as long as they are off-duty. Imagine a 17-year-old trained in using an assault rifle in combat being sent to Afghanistan or another country where he is fighting "the good fight". He will not be trusted with guns chambered bigger than a .22 long rifle until he is 25 unless he is passing a psychological evaluation - which he has to pay for himself. The only country with stricter gun laws over here is the UK, and they totally banned all handguns - including AIR guns. The oathbreakers in charge in Germany are currently working on an improved version of the former German Democratic Republic. But the libertarians are growing stronger with every day and we are working on a european version of your NRA. Civil rights are not worth a lot over here these days... That rifle cost me 1.399 Euros over here. This is a really fair price, especially when considering the fact, that the next best choice for a semi-auto rifle would be a G3-clone made in Turkey. And that one would be at 1.600 bucks or more. If I could get my hands on an HK41 I would at once. Very pricey, though, at 2k or more even in used condition. So, you see, I could not withstand that offer and I got me a deal. Troy Flip-Up Sights M4 style are ordered as of today. The shape of my head is somewhat special, which is why I prefer standard height iron sights. Thanks for the support :D
  7. Thx for the info so far. My rifle still looks like the one the first post. Thursday I went through the "break-in" the way recommended by DPMS. I was as "excessively lubricated" as the rifle after that. But there is good news: I just ordered "the-one-that-fits" plus a new low gasblock. My gunsmith will have the parts by the end of the year, so I will most likely be able to post some pictures of that gun by January. And yes, I do like it loud and heavy :)) Any recommendations on iron sights? Troy Industries? Daniel Defense?
  8. Hi there, I am new around here, so please let me introduce myself. I´m from Germany and recently my favorite dealer offered me to buy an LR-308B for an unbeatable price - well, at least for Germany it is. I made the deal and now am a proud owner of a brand-new rifle. I want to compete in IPSC Rifle Standard Division with it, so I am looking to modify it in order to mount some iron sights. As far as I can tell, there is only ONE railed handguard fitting the smooth-sided upper of that particular rifle. I guess it would be this one: http://www.dpmsinc.com/308-Standard-Length-High-4-Rail-Free-Float-Tube_p_322.html If anyone can confirm this, then I know exactly which steps to take to finally fit this rifle with the intended iron sights. Thanks a lot in advance and hopefully I can provide some images of my new black rifle, soon ;) Greeting from Germany Jan
