  1. Yes you will sorry about that had a phone call come in right in the middle of writing the topic. Okay my build is a hodgepodge of various manufacturers. Matrix Aerospace upper and lower combo and handguard. 18 inch Mega 308 Barrel mid-length gas. Red Barn Armory bolt carrier group and Red Barn Armory AR-15 mid-length gas tube and .750 gas block non-adjustable have no idea what diameter gas ports are. AR 10 B ArmaLite upper and lower parts kit. With a modified bolt catch Magpul ubr stock and receiver extension. and the JP Enterprises silent captured spring AR-10 version. Magpul pmags used two of them had the same problem. I was shooting the cheap ZQI Walmart ammunition. again any help or advice would be appreciated.
  2. I finished my Matrix build 6 months ago and just finally took it out to the range Saturday. first 20 rounds failed to pick up the second round so I would imagine it was short stroking. then I lubed it up really good, for the next five or six rounds it's fed fine but after that it started picking up two rounds at a time. Has anyone experienced this problem before any helpful hints would be much appreciated.
  3. I went with a 18" Mega Arm's barrel and Red Barn Armory BCG. The combo was $400 at Red Barn, I will say that I couldn't find any info on the quality of the Red Barn BCG's though. It looks well made, but work has been crazy and I haven't had time to finish the rifle and test fire it so I can't comment on functionality yet.
  4. Good question maybe someone who owns a Ruger will chime in.....
  5. Yes the manufacturer could have done it better, I'm guessing maybeee another 30 seconds or so when its in the machine to thread that hole. I didn't expect perfection at this price point but all in all the problems aside the other fit and finishes are really good.
  6. I used a peace of .093 stainless steel piano wire .700 thousands long. Detent spring then wire
  7. Toolndie your the man!
  8. Oh okay thanks, I ordered the AR10A lpk from Armelite so I'll just modify mine too.
  9. Chase would you hapen to have pictures of the modified bolt catch?
  10. I also bought mine on gun broker, at a slightly higher price of $235 for a nonblem set. I love the fit and finish you won't be disappointed.
  11. Cool I thought you guys were going to come down on me harder then this :909:
  12. Sorry to revive an older thread, Toolndie7 if you still have the program for the wrench I would like to buy one from you.
  13. Vary nice rifles, what distance do you usaly shoot with them?
  14. I really do like Nikon, there glass and the reticle are nice in low light. But the M-308 4-16X42 only has 40moa internal adjustment. Don't know much about long range scopes, is that enough for 500 to 700 yds?
  15. Well it just so happens I'm looking for a .308 scope too, why I started to read the thread in the first place. And thank you for the compliment but it's just a .458 not a .308......lol
  16. Gotcha, sorry to hijack the thread I'll keep my two cents in my pocket from now on.....lol
  17. Nice, I never considered a fixed power scope. Don't know about Roy but the main range I shoot at only go's out to 200yds. But I'd like to be able to get out to 500 or 600yds too.
  18. This is the first five shot group at 85yds after bore sighting it by eye. She's fun to shoot too, but I can't wait to get behind my .308.
  19. That's okay a little extra weight will help me stay on target when I get trigger happy. ..lol
  20. I took a shot in the dark buying the UBR, hadn't seen or held one. It's heavier than I thought it was going to be but it ended up balancing the rifle well. Just need a few more things and she's ready for optics.
  21. I have a Nikon 4-9 slughunter on my .458socom and I really like it. I'm almost to the point of looking for optics for my .308 I will take a serious look at Nikon.
