I would like to be able to hunt with it if necessary.

I'm doing my first SR-25 build and my goal is to be shooting this baby at the 800. I'm looking at a 24" DPMS barrel on the brownells site. Medium Contour, 1-10 twist and muzzle threads of 5/8-24. at $350 http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/barrel-parts/rifle-barrels/24-308-dpms-med-rifle-gas-barrel-sku080001025-69784-112683.aspx Then there is this Aero Precision Barrel Same threading contour and twist but its a 20" at $300 http://aeroprecisionusa.com/aspx/store/productdetail.aspx?pid=191 any thoughts on what to do? What sort of performance can I expect from each barrel? is one better than the other? Again First build so I am definitely looking for advice

Names Zack, I'm an Active Duty US Marine and me and my stepfather both decided we wanted to do a LR-308 Build. Were both using DPMS Lowers. I'm hoping this community will assist me with advice on parts and such as well as compatibility issues. I do have one question already and that's about the Magpul PRS buttstock. Can I use a Rifle Hydraulic buffer with that fixed stock and extension tube or do you guys recommend something else?
