  1. The pivot pin goes in good on mine but the two won't actually pivot the full range they're supposed to, only opens up maybe 45 degrees so I'v got interference somewhere. The receiver's mate well, only a slight gap that you can just barely see light through, but the take down pin won't go through all the way. Nothing too difficult to make work though, got spoiled after how smooth the 80% ar15 went.
  2. Thanks for the replies, guess I'll just live with it. I'm sure once I squeeze off a few rounds I'll quickly forget about it. Slugger, where did you get your lower from? Got my 80% lower from Colfax Tactical and I have some slight fitting issues with the takedown pins and the aero precision upper. Did yours go together smoothly?
  3. I got an Aero Precision upper receiver which is the high profile design and a Troy alpha rail in high profile as well. Problem is when assembled there is maybe a .010"-.02" step down from the upper rail to the hand guard rail. I've triple checked and they're both the high profile design. I called Troy and the guy said they usually match up with the Aero Precision uppers. I emailed Aero Precision and haven't heard back. Is anybody out there using this setup, and if so is everything flush?
  4. Thanks, just posted it in that section.
  5. I purchased a forged .308 80% lower from Colfax tactical and bought a jig from 80%Arms since that's what I had used on my ar15's and I figured stick with what I know works. Well I failed to notice the disclaimer saying their jig is only compatible with their billet lowers. They only give you a week to return jigs and I was past that point so now I'm stuck with it. My theory is that if I can mill the necessary relief into the jig walls so that the pin holes line up, all the features I'll be machining will still be in the correct location. I tried calling 80%Arms and they wouldn't give me a yes or no answer on it, I don't see why it wouldn't work but I was hoping to get a second opinion before potentially scrapping out the jig and receiver. Thanks for any input.
  6. I purchased a forged 80% dpms lower and got a jig from 80%arms since that's what I used on my ar15's and it worked well. However, I didn't see when I ordered it that their jig is only compatible with their billet lowers. They only accept returns on jigs within a week and I was passed it so now I'm stuck with it and don't want to buy another one. My theory is if I can mill the necessary relief into the jig walls and get the pin holes to line up I should be OK. Just wanted a second opinion before I go scrapping a jig and a lower, thanks.
