I've been reading up on that; they're taking their time shipping it out, so I may not see it until next week.

Thanks for the welcome; lots of good info to absorb on the site... this is my 1st AR and I can see I have plenty to learn. Fortunately this kind of learning is a lot of fun; my only other semi-auto rifle is an Izhmash-made Saiga IZ132 that I bought about 10 days before Obama banned their importation.

Just thought I'd post in the introduction thread to get started. I just bought a DPMS GII after doing a lot of research and trying to stay in my specific price range. Read a lot of articles and posts about the new upgrades, features, and unbelievable reliability; and decided to jump on it after Christmas... should be able to pick it up at my FFL by this weekend. I'm looking forward to reading others' impressions and experiences, as well as get some advice and tips about the platform, cartridges, and many uses... the main reason I went with it is because it's about the same size and weight as a typical AR-15, but has much greater utility due to the .308 cartridge, which is a big deal for me when I buy a firearm.
