Thanks. Glad to be a new .308 owner. Yes, rifle has a carbine gas system, 16" barrel. Gonna cover the gas block with the 12" hand guard. Not sure if "General" is the right forum section? Guess I could have posted in one of the technical areas, "parts" or "building"? Tried to move the post last night but couldn't find how to.

Hey. Looking to replace hand guard and gas block on a DPMS 308 Oracle. I want to go with a Syrac adjustable lo pro block (clamp on) and a Midwest Ind. Free Float MLok 12" rail. Anyone know if this gas block will fit? I found a schematic showing the gas block height is 1.426". Not sure of the I.D. of the rail. Think it's 1.5", but not sure and can't find anything specific on the MI website other than an O.D. of 1.75". Thanks.
