No i didn't end up getting the top rail. It is a great looking handguard though! Edit: thanks for the clarification, it is indeed the LR-308 model.

Yeah it took four years but I finally got the walking and chewing gum thing down. I'm hoping the hardest part will be finding a good place to get my cerakote done the way I want it.

Price is not really a huge factor for me as long as i am getting reliable quality parts. That being said it would be nice to keep it under $2500. I will also have it as a SHTF rifle as well as a target/ranch rifle.

Hey guys I'm starting my first gun build and decided to go with the .308. I am building it around the Aero M5 lower. I already know I will be ordering the Aero M5 upper and Aero parts kits whenever it is they will be in stock again. A couple of things i am not sure on. What buffer tube kit to get, what barrel and gas system (looking at criterion and rainier right now and would like to buy the barrel with the gas system assembled if that is a thing), a good BCG (between Aero and D Wilson manufacturing). Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I'm all for lighter weight options. So any and all suggestions you have I would love to hear them!

Yessir! I think I would like it to be a little bit of everything. I will primarily use it at my ranch target shooting and hog/deer hunting so I would like for it to be a nice general purpose use gun.

How's it going guys? Long time gun enthusiast. This will be my first AR build. Bought an Aero Precision M5 lower from my local shop today and can not wait to get started on my build. I have no idea where to go from here/what I want other than the AP upper receiver and Magpul PRS stock. But that's why I am here. Looking forward to learning. Thanks
