  1. Awesome, thanks for the help! My receivers are DPMS, so I guess I just need to make sure the stock I order and the extension are both either mil-spec or commercial? I'm looking at buying the Aero Precision M5 carbine buffer kit or the DPMS kit.
  2. For the past month or so while doing research on building my gun, I wasn't able to actually go to a gun shop/gunsmith and talk to them about building my .308. One of the things he said was that since I went with a rifle length gas system in a 20" barrel, I wouldn't be able to use a carbine length tube because it will never cycle right. He said it was because the rifle length gas system won't give enough gas for it to work. While this didn't quite make sense to me, I wanted to trust him since this is what he does for a living. I was hoping to use an adjustable stock on my build, have yall ever heard anything like this concerning the different extension lengths? Thanks for the help!
  3. I've been mooching off this forum for awhile now, but I finally decided it was time to at least sign up, especially now that I have a question or two I can't seem to figure out. I recently got orders to California and decided I needed to build an AR15 before the election and the move (might have to find it a temporary home sadly). Well, my brother talked me out of an AR15 and into a .308, but I had no idea how much more complicated it could be! So far I have a Faxon 20" barrel and I have Live Free Armory receivers and handguard coming sometime next week hopefully, now I'm stuck on the BCG and buffer. I'll be sure to post some pics and info about the Live Free Armory parts since I haven't really seen much about them. Thanks for all the help yall have unknowingly given me so far, I look forward to more of it!
