  1. Wash I called them and they asked me to fill out a online form for a ra, hopefully they do me right. That's funny because that's the very one I was wanting to get lol. Also I was looking at the Odin works adjustable gas block any opinion on that?
  2. Thanks for all of the help wash, I am frustrated dang primary arms lol. I would keep the 18 inch barrel if I knew that wouldn't be too weird with a 12 inch handguard i will definitely call them for a return. I think they are out of the 16" ba barrels too lol luck is not on my side
  3. I edited the size and it worked better posting, so here is where my original question stemmed from. The gas tube wouldn't fit in the block, it was too tight to even get it started. now I realize that my barrel is longer than what I ordered and now need a rifle length gas tube, but am not sure if the new one will fit either.
  4. It will not let me upload anymore sorry that is weird though, so I got a longer barrel than I thought, hopefully a bad gas tube not a bad gas block, will the 12 inch handguard work or do I need to send something back?
  5. it keeps saying there is a problem uploading the picture, at least I know why the gas tube was too short feel dumb but I know I ordered a 16 inch.
  6. Finally loaded a bad pic sorry, finally got the tape out I have a 18 inch barrel:( could not upload another photo of the gas block and the gas tube not fitting in sorry
  7. Sorry for the confusion Shane I couldn't figure out how to delete that first part. I figured out the gas block is correct, the gas tube is too big to fit into the gas block hole and it is way too short, the tube is not even to the threads for the barrel nut. I mistakenly tried to move the gas block down the barrel not knowing I had to line up a gas journal lol. The forum will not let me upload any pic for some reason tonight.
  8. i checked my order from primary arms, i ordered a aero precision low profile 750 gas block with a ap mid length gas tube. the block is where it should be with the gas hole so the gas tube is obviously way too short.
  9. So getting frustrated, the gas tube won't fit in the gas block holes it is too big or the hole is too small, and I didn't think about what I was ordering the 750 gas block is too small od to fit on the barrel for the the gas tube to go in the reciever, I am so confused .
  10. Wash, i took that assembly apart, and that groove appears to be machined into the threads, and the pin only goes deep enough to clear the threads- the barrel nut must act as a retainer for it. Also the finish is very thin which kind of sucks but by it's a combat weapon not a show piece lol.
  11. Oh man that sucks, good spot wash, I hope my threads are going to be alright. Now I know what to look for when I recieve a upper sight unseen.
  12. I will screw in the magazine release button some more thanks for spotting that. The dust cover pin came installed from aero I will keep an eye on that. Can't wait until my handguard shows up, may need your number for a faster response lmao.
  13. Wash it's all good lol, I need to look that tool up for sure, and I lost both detents on the takedown pin lol, took me an hour to find them to get it put together. I will try to find a pin starter punch, is that a gun tool or would Home Depot have one?
  14. This is what I have done so far, just need the handguard. Couldn't remember if I posted this pic already if I did sorry.
  15. Wash thanks for the reply, I will do that for sure. I promise I am not as dumb as I sounded yesterday lol. I got my plastic revolution claw in the mail today, plan on getting a cheap harbor freight torque wrench, I have a jar of never seize thought that would work but can get some thing else if that doesn't. I have a set of starrett metal punches but would like to find some plastic non marring ones. If I have any questions I will be sure to ask.
  16. Shane, This is my first experience with a 308ar, I always wanted one and thought I better hurry up or it would be too late. I just need the Jp enterprise handguard to show up and I'm done, can't wait. I have a old Leopold scope to use and need to decide on the mount, I can upgrade the scope later just want to shoot it asap lol.
  17. That's an awesome scope RRS congrats,do you know what mounts you are going to use yet?
  18. Like I said the barrel fit in my 10-22 build was a interference fit, and the sloppy fit or th 308 barrel through me off. I didn't realize the gas tube was belled I only took my m16 a2 down to the handguards back in the day lol
  19. I was worried about the loose fit of the barrel, I don't have the handguard yet to tighten it down so I was shocked it was so loose.
  20. Thanks for that guys lol. I knew the 750 was for the barrel but learned something new about the gas tube. I did not know the belled end went in the receiver, I learn something new every time I visit here. Thanks
  21. The barrel fits in the action super loose is a separate issue, it maybe normal but when I built a all Kidd brand 10/22 I had to freeze the barrel and heat up the action to get them to fit together so I was a little surprised about that.
  22. Sorry guys, I was on my phone at work. I have the aero precision low profile gas block I thought the size was .750 for the gas block. The gas tube is normal sized lol but the end that goes into the gas block is belled out and bigger than the ID of the gas block.
  23. the barrel just plopped in the tenon like it would fall out if you turned it upside down, and the gas tube has a flanged end and is to big for the .750 hole in the gas block. Still at work maybe awhile until I get pics
  24. If I sand the tube to fit the gas block would that be okay?
  25. I got my ballistic advantage barrel and the low profile gas block and mid length gas tube yesterday. The barrel was pretty loose, and the gas tube was too big to fit in the gas block, and was wondering if both things were normal or not lol. i found a good deal on a 12.5" Jp enterprise handguard so I picked that up too, starting to get excited to see my rifle all built.
