Admittedly I made a dumb mistake. I checked it out this morning after a good nights sleep and realized the bolt was not going all the way back every time. It was off by just a fraction. This was due to the cheek riser on the stock. I moved it back one slot on the adjustments and now it clears perfectly. I did not have any problems afterwards. Anyways we all make mistakes. At least I do. Especially after a 16 hour day! We'll see how it goes when I get out to put some rounds through it. I will keep an eye on the bolt catch. Here is my 'finished' LR-308

It took the full five weeks to receive the TNArms .308 lower. I brought it home, dropped in the Giessele G2S trigger, put on the receiver extension, inserted spring, buffer, slid on the Luth AR MBA stock and screwed on the palm swell grip. Then I slapped the Alexandria Pro Fab upper on it. Did a function check and found the first issue. The bolt will occassionally lock back on an empty mag. When it does lock back as soon as the mag is released the bolt flies forward. I cannot manually lock the bolt without a mag in the mag well. I can feel it try to grab but it does not catch. Now there is a little bit of play in the mag well. I would condemn that as being the problem but since it does not work when manually trying to lock the bolt back manually with the catch I would say that is not the issue. There is a fare amount play in the bolt catch. I was in contact with TNArms and the response was: The response was rather quick and I sent them the same images posted above. Hopefully this gets resolved quickly as well. Anyways, that is the only update I have my build at the moment.

Thanks for the input. Since I am planning on using the Geissele G2S trigger I emailed them about using anti-walk pins. They said even in polymer if installed correctly it is not an issue. "We only recommend Geissele pins with our triggers. If your G2S is installed correctly you won’t have issues with your pins walking. Please feel free to contact us with any further questions." So try it out first and see I would presume.

Here is my 7.62x39 rifle. PSA Magpul Blem lower($149), Daytona Tactical 7.62x39 complete upper w/ BCG($319) with addition of an enhanced firing pin from Black Rifle Arms($7). The rifle runs reliably with C Products magazines and cheap ammo. I admit the 30 round mag is comical. The ten and twenty round mags look better.

Geissele sent it to me this morning. Seems easy enough. As you said if it even needs to be performed. 03-106 PSA LOWER HAMMER MODIFICATION REVISED.pdf

Hey thanks for that! I am pretty good with a dremel. So I guess I will wait for DPMS to send me that diagram. The price on the trigger is pretty good.

Without opening another thread... does anyone here use the Giessele G2S with .308 build? I saw where DPMS says not intended for use in .308...?

It is a 15" handguard over 18" barrel. I will certainly report back. I am sure someone here has had to use them before though. Perhaps not though!

I can certainly do that. I have not received the lower as of yet. I ordered on the 7th and there is a 4-5 week back order due to the facility change/election. My order currently states 'Awaiting Shipment'. Where previously it said fulfilling order. Would hope to get it soon. I ordered black but I guess all the other .308 lower colors are available. They claim 14 oz. with LPK installed. Right now the upper looks like this:

Thanks for the welcome. That first rifle should have just been a S&W M&P15. I see, yeah I exclusively use chrome browser. So must be the problem!

Hello, New here to the forum. Made a post in the trigger section already but thought an intro was in hand. This is my first LR-308 build. I started my black rifle collection with a S&W M&P15-22(customized it a little). Then purchased a S&W M&P 15-22(slightly customized) for a fun cheap little plinker. Next I snapped together an AR chambered in 7.62x39 using a complete blem PSA magpul complete lower and a Daytona Tactical complete 7.62 upper. Only chnage on the 7.62x39 was an enhanced firing pin for better reliability. All of these rifles shoot very well. So decided to build an LR-308 for a bench rifle and perhaps a couple hunting outings a year. This is mainly a 'budget' rifle 'build'. Build used in the broad word as prices for complete/uppers and really hard to beat these days building from scratch. That being said here are the components of my build I have purchased thus far. Tennessee Arms Populated .308 Lower - Yes, I was willing to give polymer a shot. The lower comes populated with a standard LPK. Alexandria PRO-FAB .308/7.62X51 Upper Receiver Group 18in. Barrel 416R Stainless Steel 1/10 TWIST NITRIDE BCG – 9310 BOLT MUZZLE DEVICE – A2 BIRDCAGE GAS SYSTEM – MID LENGTH Luth LR-308 MBA Modular Stock w/DPMS Buffer Assembly Kit SureFire Pro Comp Muzzle Brake Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x40 AO BDC PMAG 20 LR/SR GEN M3 - Will likely swap for ten rounder So I still yet need to pick out a scope mount and a decent trigger. I figure I will use a Giessele G2S. BTW, not sure if this is a forum wide problem, but I have to reset my password every time to login.

I think I would rather have a two stage trigger for this build. The velocity is single stage correct? Sort of leaning toward the Geissele G2S as of now.

Thanks for the welcome. I plan to do so shortly. Understandable. My build is using an 18" 416R barrel. I have read that about polishin mil-spec triggers. Thanks for the recommendations. I know there are many on the market. It may best to 'save' for one to appreciate! I have looked at the RRA triggers, Del-ton Two Stage, Geiselle G2S(~$120 shipped on sale right now). So many out there is hard to make a decision!

Thanks! I plan do do so to post about my build shortly.

In the beginning stages of a 'budget' build. So not looking to 'break the bank' on a trigger. I am wondering if polishing the trigger group, jp reduced power springs and an adjustable trigger grip screw would make for noticeably nicer trigger over mil-spec? My other rifles all have mil-spec triggers so I don't have any comparisons to after market triggers. Yes plenty of youtube videos and forum posts but wanted to hear what ar/lr 308 community had to say The rifle is mostly going be used bench shooting and perhaps in tree stand a couple of times a year. Thanks for you time.
