  1. Semper Fi Gunny! 46's or skids? I am a former H3, 46 A/C and Mech. Who now just fly's in MH-60S's I feel you on getting restless. The DOD isn't whet it used to be. I'm looking to retire and start my own business... not sure which way I want to go yet with that. Keep the faith and ruck on Devil Dog!
  2. I am very patriotic with a great desire for this country and its people to succeed and to be self sufficient! I have been in the military for 20+ years and have loved just about every minute... My rifle building career started about two years ago... not sure why it took so long. Maybe it had to do with limited funding. Joined this forum to gain some knowledge about the differences between the AR15 and LR-308 to build a rifle with my boys and daughter. They love anything having to do with the military, hunting and guns. Well, I wish you all the best in all your endeavors!
  3. Shepp, Thanks! I do better with illustration.
  4. Survivalshop, I have a DPMS (Aero precision) upper and lower. I would like as smooth an action as possible with in a reasonable $ range. So what I gather from your statement is; use a "DPMS" compatible buffer and spring with a mid-length gas system. Right? Is the difference in Armalite and "DPMS" versions the part size.. i.e. buffer tube diameter, and upper barrel orifice size? I'm just trying to wrap my mind around why the two aren't compatible. Thanks for the help!!
  5. Good morning Everyone! I know there is a buffer question on here already. But it doesn't answer my question. What determines the best buffer weight and spring length? I am thinking about buying an 18" barrel with mid-lentgh gas port for my AR-10 build. Can I use a carbine buffer and spring with that? Thanks in advance!
