I will give a review when I am all finished with the build. Now that the barrel I ordered the focus moves to a BCG and Gas system.

I went ahead and ordered that Wilson arms fluted barrel. We will see how it works out. Thanks for all the help!

Thanks 98Z5B! I am very much considering the Wilson Arms barrel. It's a poop load cheaper than the JP and I like the looks of the fluting.

Maybe I could use the JP barrel and the Fail Zero nickel boron BCG.

I will be going DPMS pattern. I bought the July builders kit from Aero Precision that is cerakoted to look like a flag in a parchment color. I want it to be a great looking gun but also function just as good as it looks. I have been looking at JP but I can't find any or their nickel boron bolts that have forward assist.

Gents, I am really wanting to put a polished stainless barrel on my new .308 build but I am having a hard time finding options. I am planning to run an 18 inch with a mid length gas system. Give me some recommendations. Price really isn't an issue.

So I can use a standard AR15 buffer tube for my collapsible Magpul stock and use the EA1096 spring with a buffer from heavy buffers?

No sir I do not have a buffer tube yet. I assume it is heavier duty and longer than a standard buffer for an AR15. Can you get one from heavy buffers when you buy a buffer and spring?

I recently built my first AR15 a few months ago and what can I say...the bug bit me. I am now starting my first .308AR build and have a few questions. I picked up an M5E1 builder kit from Aero Precision and I am starting to look for a barrel. The builder kit came with a Magpul STR stock. I am looking to go 18 inches on the barrel length with a mid length gas system. Will I be fine with this setup using a buffer system from heavy buffers? This build is a little more scary for me since I bought a complete upper for my AR15 when I built it and didn't have to mess with all this parts configuration. Also I assume I should buy my BCG from the same barrel manufacturer for head spacing right. Sorry for multiple questions within this post. Thanks!
