Shot a few matches at Camp Atterbury...enormous rifle ranges!

Spent 5 years in north-central TX (between Dallas and Fort Worth). Nice winters, springs and falls...brutal summers :) Decent cost of living. Wasn't into shooting back then.

I think that I have it sorted out. Will get an Armalite upper, bought a SLR handguard with AR10 barrel nut, and SLR adjustable gas plug. Will get a barrel and rest of the parts from Keystone Accuracy. Thanks!

Hi I am new to this forum. I was seeking info on the differences between Armalite and other brands 308 ARs, specifically DPMS. I have been shooting AR15 for the past 25yrs mainly in NRA high power competitions. I had no interest in a 308-based AR until some presidential candidate threatened to ban AR rifles. I got an AR15 when her husband had threatened the same thing (I was shooting a M1A in competitions). :) Because 308 bolt-faced AR are non standard, it becomes confusing in putting one together.

I apologize since I'm sure this question has been answered before but I am a newbie and not quite sure how to do a efficient search without spending an hour or two. I bought an Armalite Series A AR lower. I now want to complete the set:) I am considering completing a stripped upper. I am thinking of getting a stripped Armalite Series A upper and buying DPMS upper parts including barrel. Is this possible?
