  1. Thank you all for the condolences. Shooting and racing were things we shared while I was growing up. I now have three girls and plan to teach them to shoot with grandpa's guns. My 13/yo is especially excited to hit the range. I need to learn how to tear down and clean everything still, but we will hit the range soon. I think dad would be happy to see us all learning together. That being said, expect many questions from myself. haha
  2. Hi everyone. As the title says I'm relatively new to the gun world. Use to shoot with my dad when I was a kid but it trailed off significantly into my college years. My father recently passed and left me his gun collection so I'm getting back into the scene. Among (several) others he had an ArmaLite AR-10 that I plan on keeping. Just trying to learn more about the gun itself and its history. I can't tell if this rifle is a newer, more common version or something older/harder to find. Everything SEEMS fairly standard on the rifle from what I've been able to dig up except one thing. There seems to be a Department of Defense Eagle emblem on the front of the lower receiver? It's not terribly clear though. So any insight you guys might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
