  1. Is there a good, cushiony butt pad for this? I'm a slim-build guy with not a lot of padding on my bones, making my .308 not as much fun to shoot as it should be. Can't find anything through Google search except pads for AR-15s. But as the photos of my two rifles show, the rear of my .308 stock has a concave profile vs my Bushmaster M4's slightly convex shape. Might there be a pad where this difference wouldn't even matter? It seems the empty space created by the slightly concave profile might actually enhance the cushion effect, but don't know if it would present a mounting or fit issue.
  2. On my Bushmaster M4, the reassembly instructions say the slits in the three bolt rings are to be evenly spaced (120 degrees between each of the splits in the three rings). On my DPMS .308 this is not required. Two questions: What is the reason for the even spacing instruction on the M4, and why is this not required on the .308?
  3. Thanks, Robocop. Very helpful so far. Would you mind rattling off the names of the items in your photos 1 through 6 so I can do some hunting around for sources, prices, mounting procedures, etc. That just might wrap up this affair for me.
  4. Hope this helps, edgecrusher.
  5. Thanks, shepp! If a little more editing capability was allowed here I'd clean it all up. ? Somewhere along the line I came to think the name AR10 also applied to the DPMS .308. I appreciate the clarification!
  6. Sorry, I really goofed that up. Here it is again, hopefully making some sense! I recently purchased a DPMS Panther AR10 and would like to know the correct way, or your preferred way, to fasten the front end of a 2-point sling. There is a fastener only on the stock; nothing at the front end. Advice much appreciated!
  7. I recently purchased a DPMS Panther LR308 and would like to know the correct way, or your preferred way, to fasten it on the front end where there is no fastener. Advice much appreciated!
