  1. That is also one of my considerations. The ability to switch between shotshells and 7.62/308 is really nice. I am waiting to see if price drops a little more. I may go that way anyway real soon to be able to get more for my money. A shotgun is already way up there in versatility but that really appeals to me. I can not find out though exactly what uppers/calibers would be compatible. maybe your idea of just getting the upper is better... hadnt thought about that
  2. I do keep a few slugs in the sidesaddle just in case but as a general rule no, and neighbors are not an issue as I am in the sticks. But I still like my exterior walls not being drafty. I was not real clear on all that. I use buckshot. And no arguing with what you say about cost on shockwaves(gun deals dot com have some jaw dropping deals from time to time) and tac 14s but I am not into pistol grips, i should have said that in my original post. I like a stock in case I need to give an intruder a love tap to the back and bottom of skull or to the face/head. Maybe a chin check. just in case. Its how I was trained to use a scattergun and I just do not feel comfortable deviating from that. The mags are cheaper for the black aces than a shockwave, not sure on the remington, but as a general rule i steer away from freedom group weapons. Cerberus. all that. Not trying to knock any ones toys, but I am just saying for me what i would rather not spend my money on. every mans conscious is different. And as a noob on this site i want to make it clear I am not trying to say dont buy them because i have an opinion, if you like/want it, do it. I want to basically know if black aces builds are reliable for HD or any issues known that could be fixed, or if its a pipe dream. My mossberg shotgun i want to strip for parts to go on the B.A.T. is what i want to put a rifled barrel on and use for hunting, not for HD. And basically leave it set up as a slug gun and then use the B.A. build as HD. I like a scope for reaching out there with sabot slugs. It just really appeals to me to lob a one oz. or more projectile out with decent accuracy. And its kind of a pain to switch barrels mag tubes and sights every time i want to change platforms. ************** LoLz on jerky boys demo.
  3. They have a kit you can buy for uhm... round 400. Dont quote me on that My memory aint the best. Anyway, anyone have any experience with them? the kit comes with a receiver, internals and I think one 10 round mag(made by saiga) Reason I ask is I got an old Mossberg 500 8 shot I could strip for parts and furniture because i want to turn that one into a slug gun with a rifled barrel. I am not interested in buying a complete firearm/shotgun from them but doing the build. I am mainly interested in reliability, which is a must because I use a shotgun for my primary for HD.

    Hello

    Thank Yall for the welcome.
  5. Sorry mods I dont know what happened there. I guess that dont work on this site? It wouldnt let me type or use enter or nothing. Cursor was just froze in one spot blinking at me. I even tried to close the window but it saved the draft. any way... thanks 98Z5V I always do run a Geissele Super Gas Block unless i was to go with a company like O.W. and they give a free gas block with it. I will check out Wilson and Rainer. Any other good companies for 308 AR pipes?

    Hello

I already appreciate an environment on the internet where some... will not be missed.

    Hello

LoLz. No its not my real name. I dont really put my personal info on the internet. Not because i am trying to hide anything but because there are some unsavory characters out there and i have had someone steal my identity before. I picked this name, and use it other places on the internet, because I am really a backwoods type and everyone I know, even my family, makes fun of me from time to time about my accent. So I thought what is the most bumpkin name I can think of. When I looked it up i learned it was greek and it means "glory." I knew right then my search was over.
  8. I am currently in the middle of an AR15 build and want to do a .308 build next and have begun research and development stage. I must clarify a few things before i get to the meat and taters. I am a meat hunter, not a horn hunter. Dont care to much for bling, its nice but i can do without. I am not looking for a bar-b-que gun, I want to build a tool. function and accuracy are all I care about. I also do not care for considering 6.5 credmoore or any other rounds. My first upper I want in .308 winny and the second will be in 375 raptor. Maybe down the road i will consider another caliber such as 6.5 or maybe even 22-250. I want .308/7.62 first because its a NATO round and my current deer/hog rifle is in .308. I dont know how it is on this forum yet, this is only my second post. I have seen on other forums how everyone suggests rounds and i know they probably mean well but I am completely green to this type of rifle and I know what i want (I think) I am wondering right now about barrels. WOA dont make 308. Ussually i go with WOA, faxon, Or ballistic advantage for an AR 15 barrel. I want a bolt and a barrel from the same company for obvious reasons... as you can tell by my examples I like good accuracy with a decent price. I understand bigger bore is bigger dollars as a general rule but whats a company that sells a straight shooting barrel with a bolt to match. And let me be specific, if i cant get sub MOA at 100 yards I am not interested and i would like to still be good on a deer or hog at 5-600 yards and minute of man at 800,. I would like the length weight to not be totally unusable for a defensive weapon, if needed. Kind of a happy medium but with more emphasis on accuracy than weight. I am fairly good sized and plenty strong so a little heft aint a deal breaker. Also, is Aero Precision good receivers for 308? I like them for AR 15s. Also Whos good on gas blocks? And one more quick question, is it pretty much the same on 308 ARs as AR15s?... put the money on barrel block and trigger or are there other concerns? I thank anyone in advance for any advice or help you can offer.
