  1. Good info, I almost pulled the trigger on the 80%, looks like I need to check out the 5D a little closer.
  2. The 5D looks very similar to the 80 percent arms jig by the pucture. 80 percent has a universal jig now that does ar15, ar10, and 9mm version although I've not tried it. Their AR15 jig worked great though.
  3. ["their kits" can figure out how to edit on the phone.] Have come across seemingly reliable but yet unvetted info that the Hell Fire 80% lowers will fit Gen 2 PA-10 uppers with minor mod; take down pin holes may be a shade small. They are supposed to fit Gen 1 as is.
  4. I've got an email into Hell Fire regarding compatibility... and yes, they're kits are cheap enough I may roll the dice. I used 80% arms for the 15s, and it worked great. They have a universal jig now that's supposed to be better.
  5. 98Z58 Nothing is set in stone here, I simply mentioned the PSA as a starting point. I'm open to suggestions. Most of the stuff I'm running across on the web, is a bit dated hence the reason for asking. I did send an email to Hell Fire to see what they had to say. 🙂 Thanks
  6. Hmmm... so this may be a short lived thread. Not a lot of feedback. In the mean time, I ran across this reference to Hell Fire Armory and an %80 lower that will allegedly fit a PSA. Anyone familiar? https://moriartiarmaments.com/blog/the-difference-in-308-upper-receivers-and-what-we-need-to-know.html/article This is link to Hell Fire: https://www.hellfirearmory.com/AR-10-Parts/AR-10-Combo-Packs/AR-10-80-Lower-Receiver-with-Jig-Set-Package I'm guessing that since no one replied, no one is familiar with them.
  7. Has anyone had any luck finding an 80% lower that a Palmetto State Armory (PSA) upper will work with reliably? PSA has had some great deals lately but clearly states their stuff is proprietary. As this proprietary goes, someone usually finds a way around it. Plan B, are there any compatibility charts that help locate brands whose parts fit well together? I've wanted a 308 from day one but started building AR15s first because the parts were more interchangeable between brands. Now that I have a little experience under the belt, I want to try my hand at an 80% AR-308 with respect to reliability and economy for the first build. Thanks
