For all of you out there that are running mid length gas systems on a 16 inch 308, do yall have any issues out of them and what type of adjustable gas blocks are you running?

What is everyone’s opinion on a short barrel 18”6” to 18” 6.5 creedmoor for hunting whitetail deer out to 250 - 300 yards, or if going that short would it be better to go 308? It would be used with factory ammo as I do not have a reloader.

I am building a 308 AR for hunting deer sized game out to 250 yards and possibly target shooting out to 500 yards. I am trying to decide between a ballistic advantage 16 inch and 18 inch barre. Any recommendations?

I am currently building a 16” 308 for hunting. The furthest shot I would have would be around 200 to 250 yards. I also might use it to target shoot out to 400yards. Does anyone have any good suggestions for an optic under $250. also what is yalls opinion on illumination on an optic, like is it something that is going to dissuade you from buying an optic if it doesn’t have it?
