  1. Thanks for all the help guys. I headspaced with bolt only with barrel removed and then headspaced with bolt in carrier with barrel installed, probably at least 3 times OCD I guess I may have to try again since you brought it up lol finished it up more or less, haven't checked if it feeds but otherwise seems to operate correctly
  2. looks like ot protrudes slighty above the PMAG
  3. try these for the pics https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ogrnDx3uDthDjammKUWq55BTlWVio7iV/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ojri-bACjam1WShck7_UdWOCbu4UzULv/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1or8gzESLJeE2WRLBO6r0Yjtu9okybVfy/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1osCsnyE8Lb4s0y_9CSSx1waUpYfQsjxj/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1osM9J3V4EhSsaD5NSVmYy63_ybFnxnfx/view?usp=sharing
  4. And now I'm thinking what happens to the soft, non-anodized 6061 where I grind it with cases possibly hitting it repeatedly. Since this is to be a 12.5" barrel .308 range toy and not a critical-use tool maybe I should just build it first and see how it runs before taking an irreversible step?
  5. any recommendations on dremel bit type? This is 6061 I believe, thinking either a metal cutting type bit or a rounded cone shaped grinder bit might be the easiest like 952 below? Left as is those receiver edges are likely to hit/dent the brass even if it feeds fine right?
  6. you sure it's not "OK" like the bottom right one lol?
  7. Are there typically issues with large-frame uppers that have no feed ramps when used with a barrel extension that has M4 feed ramps? Or would the magazine lip/wings just guide the round to the barrel extension ramps? thank you
  8. I don't question PWS I know they are quality but I think these were only available on MK2 Mod 0 and Mark 2 Mod 1 for a short time before they switched to forged for their production MK2s but at that price certainly not a huge gamble and I'm sure it can be made to work with a PWS upper at the very least
  9. thanks for all the feedback guys, sounds like 250 or so for an Aero set to keep from ripping one's hair out is the way to go vs 200 for the Matrix. The PWS billet lower made by SI-Defense/Falkor for 150 is still intriguing but I would bet has it's own issues and the listing ended anyway though there were 10+ available
  10. Thanks for the replies, the Matrix looks newer - So are they Armalite pins or a special pin length only MAtrix uses? I'm with you on just buying Aero, they are solid and readily available, but these intrigued me I actually found an ADM 308 set for reasonable price I picked up but wondering about a more "budget" build now too 🙂 This is what the Matrix looks like
  11. Some low cost receiver sets/lowers available on the auction site Matrix sets for $200 PWS billet lower made by SI Defense apparently before they went to forged for $150 Stag sets for $300 I am leaning toward the matrix set hard to go wrong at that price any warnings? The PWS is tempting too but seller won't answer any questions
  12. thank you, they are on my list to keep an eye on for stock
  13. looking for right side handle stripped BCG what the title says
  14. I am leaning toward the M110 cut Larue lower as my understanding that is a slant cut with DPMS barrel nut threads and readily available
