  1. Thank you, Yes it is great to find someone who has experience with this set up, Thanks for everyone's help. I will certainly update as I go.
  2. Thanks for your input. Nice bulls! That is awesome to hear because I really want to take this bad boy out on a hunt this fall. I think 500 yards is about my limit but I probably would not push over 400 anyways so that should be perfect. Bull I took in November with my bolt 7mm RM at 363 yards
  3. Hello everyone my name is Mitch, I am from Denver CO which is now basically a gun hating city which is unfortunate. I have always been a huge AR-15 fan. I have a few as well as a VR-80 a AR platform 12 gauge. I just purchased my first .308 AR. I purchased a POF-USA P308 Edge Warhog with a16.5" barrel. Once my wallet recovers I am going to dress her up a bit with a nice Bi pod and scope and potentially a can. I need to do my research on that first. I am very excited about this rifle as I have been wanting one for years as a SHTF gun. Might try to take her out elk hunting as well but still considering the pros and cons since I have multiple bolts that do more than fine for hunting. But have always thought it would be interesting. Any way I am happy to be here and love talking with like minded individuals. I look forward to some good information and conversations! The new 308 AR. AR-12 and my old DPMS AR-15 Stag AR-15
  4. Oh I see, Thank you for pointing that out. I am big into AR-15's but this is my first .308 AR. Sounds good I will do that. Thanks Sisco.
  5. Hello everyone, I just received my AR-10 yesterday, POF-USA P308 Edge Warhog with a 16.5" Barrel. I wanted a AR-10 that was piston operated so this was perfect, They have been out of stock for months so when they received stock I did not hesitate. I was torn between the 18" and 16.5". I went with the 16" because it is almost 2 lbs lighter and from the research I have done it seems the velocity loss is pretty minimal from the 18 to the 16, and it was all they had in stock. This is my SHTF rifle so I wanted something a little lighter that packs a punch and is decent at mid-long range. I may even get another 18" or 20" upper down the road. So my whole point of this post is because I have taken a lot of heat for going with a 16.5" barrel and I understand the differences but some say the 16.5" handicaps the .308 quite a bit. I wanted to Elk hunt with this but from the ballistics calculator I used it looks to be 250-300 yards would be the max lethal shot with enough velocity. I do not have to hunt with this rifle because I have plenty of other bolts but have always wanted to hunt elk with the AR platform. Wondering if anyone has elk hunted with an AR-10 especially with a 16" barrel. I am thinking of putting a can on it as well but I do not know much about the suppresser world so I will have to do some more research for that as well. Anyways I love the rifle regardless just looking for some second opinions.
  6. I got one form them just the other day!
  7. Hello everyone,I am just curious if anyone is running one of these POF 18" .308's ( 7.62 X 51 ) short stroke piston operated. I have been in the market for a piston operated 18" barrel AR-10 style rifle for a while. This rifle is the only serious candidate thus far, It seems there are a plethora of DI .308's out there and even a decent amount of 16" piston's. I apologize if this has already been discussed somewhere, I have looked up and down online and cannot seem to find much info on this 18" Edge SPR not even a review, Plenty of info on the 16" Edge. I know this is a awful time to buy a new rifle but I am not in a hurry at the moment as I am working on a couple other builds. I am open to suggestions on different rifles as well, Basically just looking for any feedback on this rifle though. Is it worth the money? Is it worth the almost 10LB weight? How does the short stroke piston system perform? I will be using this rifle as kind of an all around gun. Long range shooting / Elk & deer hunting / doomsday all in one rifle / Tyranny defense ETC.Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!- Mitch
