  1. In early June I asked about a DPMS GII Recon dust cover. The dust cover rod shifted forward after about 10 rounds and the cover spring came off. I have reinstalled the rod with the spring but cannot see how the rod is retained within the housing. I know many other ARs have a C clip to keep the rod in place. I don't see how it's done on a DPMS GII Recon. Anyone have information on how to keep the rod stationary? I do not see a place for a clip and haven't found a Youtube video that addresses this issue. Thanks!
  2. Thanks for the history and the comparability chart. The GII is a great rifle. I wondered why the DPMS magazines were no longer available, now I know. Thanks again!!!
  3. I purchased two DPMS GII Recons several years ago. One for me and another for my son who just started medical school. He recently graduated and we took the rifle to the range for the first time this last weekend. After putting about 20 rounds through it the ejection port cover spring fell off. I have tried to contact DPMS (Remington) at the number and email given at the DPMS website. No luck. No one answers the phone and the email address in invalid (the message I received was that me email had been blocked). Anyone else have this problem and if so, how did you resolve it. I could probably reattach the spring but not sure I could prevent the same issue from happening again and it galls me a bit to have to repair a new weapon. BTW - My GII Recon works flawlessly. It may end-up being my son's... Any help is greatly appreciated.
