Got into .308 just about a year ago. I coach a college rifle team (smallbore/air). At the end of last year, the team wanted to build their own AR15s. They had great fun. Some are planning on building AR10s this year. (Bug has hit them!!) I am not a gunsmith but I've built a few AR15s, AR9s, an AK, and refinished an 1873 Winchester that is, to pat myself on the back, a great and gorgeous rifle!!
Finished the receiver, and built it from there. Went a little overboard on the muzzle break-had to make a reduction bushing for it to go on. Took a while but finally found an Allen bag to use for this rifle. I really like the .308 round and didn't hold back on this build:
Lilja 24" barrel, Magpul PRS Gen3 stock, Gibbs Arms Upper with left side charge handle and forearm, Aero Precision NiB BCG, Geissele Super Match Trigger, Hydraulic Recoil buffer, Larue quick detach scope mount, Leopold VX-6 (not on in the photos), Barrett M82 muzzle break, adjustable gas block, Tubb flatwire buffer spring.
