  1. UPDATE: The gun fires and operates as it should. I will continue research on the gas tube and order the right one. Thanks everyone for the help!
  2. It works! I yanked back on the charge handle and it doesn’t stick back, next is to test fire it. I’ll update when I do. Thanks!
  3. So I installed the new buffer and spring. when pulling the CH (I pull it fairly hard) the BCG still sticks back. (Pic) When I mortar the gun easily, the BCG slides back forward. Is this just a break in issue?
  4. Thank you Rex, I’ll update when the buffer and spring come in
  5. Thanks for everyone being patient with me. When I say I’m not knowledgeable I mean it. I usually just buy a factory gun that’s ready to go out of the box. I didn’t know there was so many details and precise measurements that goes into one of these guns. I’m definitely learning but it’s a slow process understanding everything.
  6. Unfortunately I do not have a harbor freight nearby, but I was able to find something that fits in the gas port and measure it to 0.0860. (I am currently checking Lowe’s/ Home Depot for numbered drill bits) gas tube is 11 and 9/16 from center of retaining pin to end of gas tube. I would need 0.200” longer to reach the center of the cam cut out. Then I would add the 11 9/16 + 0.200 + either 0.187 or 0.1765 and that would give me the gas tube length I need? Should I remove the gas tube from the block as well or wait? UPDATE: I am waiting on the heavier buffer and orange spring. They have been shipped.
  7. -98Z5V- Dude chill out, I’ve stated multiple times I’m new to it and not knowledgeable on the subject… I’ve provided the information that I know and I followed the “waterboarding” thread and provided the information in that thread (step 1-12). Reading the information on this forum is equivalent to learning a new language. I’ve also asked if I was measuring the gas tube correctly or not and etc. Thanks to Albroswift, I know I’ll need to remove the gas tube after measuring how much longer I need to reach the center of the cam cut out.
  8. here’s a better picture of the BCG being pushed down into the buffer tube with the buffer and spring.
  9. Here is a couple pictures of the malfunction. It sometimes sticks back like this when I pull the CH. when fired it sticks back every time. Am I correct to assume that the buffer and spring are just not strong enough to shove it back? *I have ordered the buffer and spring recommend above.
  10. The gas port is 5/64” and the barrel measurement at the gas port is 3/4” (#11) I measured what the picture shown in the waterboarding thread. But to measure the tube, am I taking the tube out of the gas block? Or like this (pic) it reads 11 7/8” although it looks like 12 in the picture.
  11. I will try my best to get accurate measurements tomorrow. Just trying to figure out what I’m measuring and how to take it apart without destroying parts. Seems simple but I’ve never broke down a gun this far.
  12. This is my first AR10 so I just bought a budget(ish) upper and lower to mess with and learn. I’ve ordered the orange spring and after reading on the springco site it makes sense to have it. Im also about to order the 5.3 oz buffer. Not sure how to make the gas tube line up with the center of the cam cut out
  13. Ok, yeah so like this (picture). This is how I put back in and how it originally was. I’m still reading through the forums posted above. There a lot of info
  14. Also, the magazine had 4 rounds in it and it stuck back with 3 still in the mag.
