nope, just magpul rifle length MOE. I tried several different Ballistic advantage and Criteriin barrels, none would fit. That’s when I discovered that dpms and Armalite barrels had different gas system lengths. I’ll probably have Mcgowen spin me up a custom barrel-they have the option for Armalite length rifle gas.

I’d be happy with 18” too, anything I can mount rifle length drop in handguards onto would be fine. if that barrel had the proper gas system length I’d have been all over it.

I don’t want it. I have lots of free floated fore end ARs, but my favorites are always the service rifle types with heat shielded fore ends like my A4 and M4 clones. I simply prefer drop in, insulated handguards. Personal preference.

Hey all, I’m looking for a 308 or 7mm-08 (would really prefer 7mm-08 but I’m not optimistic lol) 20”, lighter profile barrel that uses the Armalite gas system length. Seems like everything I find uses DPMS and that precludes my using drop in hand guards as I would prefer. Is there a vendor that has the Armalite barrels on the shelf?
