haze1964 Posted April 30, 2011 Report Posted April 30, 2011 I recently purchased a Bushmaster ORC in .308, which I’ve read have similar specs to the DPMS LR-308. Mine has the .060” lower rail height. I’d like to replace the handguards with a mid-length free-float tube. Not sure why, but I don’t like the round ones. I’ve found a few quad rail options made to match the new height upper (Troy Industries and DPMS), but they only come in carbine and rifle length. I was curious if anyone was aware of mid-length option (approx 9”) that would work. If not, is it feasible/advisable to have a rifle length rail cut down? If so, what would be the best way to refinish it? Thanks for the help.
