I looked around there and did not find anyone talking about these. I can't believe these are not one of the more popular choices. I shoot Target, thats what I do. I shoot different high quality target bullets, most of them are Lapua ,& Berger, 100 to 125gr range. I know a real nice bullet when I see it. Sierra MK bullets are one of the best, the 135grMK is my "Heavy Bullet" load and just kicks ass at 200 yards. No problems with there quality. Sierra is not taking a back seat to no one with this bullet, Its realy that nice. The only thing I think they missed, because this bullet is so long, was not installing a Lapua style crimping cannelure on this bullet that is designed for a semi-auto app.. That does help in semi auto match reloading. One of the biggest reasons I love the Lapua 100 & 123gr 30 cal bullets. The cannelure is slight and precise Not a end all, but seems to work well. Just surprised, since most 300 owners reload, there not all over this bullet.

Had ordered a box of these to play with loading for my 308x39 AR, and found that this one will not work in this load. Way to long. Does look like it should work in 308W, so going to play with that and see. I did want to say though how impressed I was with this bullet. Looks to be a one of a kind design, unlike other flat base Sierra bullets. The cone shape taper changes at the tip into a micro hollow point. Very nice! At the velocity and twist rate of the 300, this bullet looks like it should be nothing less then crazy accurate. The long size should fit the mag nicely. Wanted to see if any 300 loaders have used these and what kind of accuracy your getting. Sierra has given you guys something realy nice to work with.

I am not surprised, with the X39, the best accuracy will be in the Max neighborhood, thats where it gets tricky with powders. 25gr IMR 4198 and the 123gr V-max is one outstanding combo of the right powder and bullet. One of my most accurate loads. By far the best of any other powders I have tried with this bullet.

Loaded 10 rounds 110gr V-Max over 26gr IMR 4198 and 10 rounds 135gr Sierra MK over 22gr IMR 4198. Went to the range today for my first shoot and I must say, It was good, good day. All were shot at 50 yards. The first 5 rounds from this barrel, 123gr Lapua FMJ, 25gr Vit120, .375 ! Nice start, Berger 115gr over 27gr Vit133, 10 round group of .510. V-Max 110gr over 26gr IMR4198, 10 round group of .575. Last the 135gr Sierra MK over 22 gr of IMR 4198 came in with a 10 round group of .790. Best first outing I ever had.

New AR upper in 308x39 ready to go. Really excited to start loading this round. The true "little brother" to the LR308. Just finished loading up the first trip to the range. 20 rounds 100gr Lapua HP over 26gr Vit120.- 20 rounds 123gr Lapua FMJ over 25gr Vit120.- 10 rounds 115gr Berger MHP over 26gr IMR 4198.- 10 rounds 115gr Berger MHP over 26gr Vit 120.- 10 rounds 115gr Berger MHP over 26gr #1680.- 10 rounds 115gr Berger MHP over 27gr Vit133 These wii be shot out of a McGowen 20" , SS , Match Barrel chambered in 7.62x39 with a 1-12 twist, rifle size gas system and a .308 bore. All the 308W bullets up to 125gr and most up to 150gr should be an option for this load. Lots of reloading fun ahead. Time to bag some 10rings.

At 100 yards, try some lighter bullets. My best 200 yard bullet is a Sierra 135grMK. At 50 and 100 yard, nothing comes close to 100gr Lapua HP over 45gr of Vit N133. Ten ring killer!

That is what makes the 308 such a great round to load, 100gr to 200gr and they all preform.

Since my range max distance is 200 yards and my rifle is a short barrel,14.5, not really a long range package, never saw a need for a heavy bullet. Have had great results with 100gr Lapua HP, 110gr Sierra, 125gr Lapua FMJ, 135gr Sierra Match King. All work great and a lot less recoil. My fav is the 100gr Lapua.

On 7.62x39, mag primers do make differance, big help sealing up neck leakage in the AR and CZ. Powder also is factor, N120 shoots pertty much the same with either primer, now take IMR4198, a corse stick powder that is on the slower side for Med size cases, the Mag primers work much better. On 308, always use Mag primers with ball powders. On reg powder loads have loaded both ways and seen little differance or real need to use them.

Need some help here, getting ready to load and cannot seem to find any published info in the reloading manual and or online? What am I missing? .310 V-MAX for 7.62x39

The Twist on my DPMS is 1-10. The Lapua is a solid copper alloy, flat based, match target bullet. I have loaded most 110gr varmet bullets and for pure accurcy, the Lapua is the best light bullet I have ever shot in 30cal. bolt guns and the semi is looking like it's going to like them too. They will preform very well with speeds between 2900 to 3100 fps depending on what your rifle likes. The Vit 135 load should be in the 2900 fps range on my rifle. I have to again say what a differance the Heavy Buffer made, money well spent.

Great advice on the buffer. Installed a "Heavy Buffer" and man, what a differance! Besides improving handling and feel, my ejected brass no longer has dings that I was getting before. Great upgrade. Scope problems have slowed down my load testing, but last time out the 100gr Lapua Cutting Edge was on fire! If you load 30 cal., you realy have to try this bullet. The accuracy will impress. Best load to date: Vit N135 44.0 gr OL 2.640

I am reloading for a lr308 with a 14.5' barrel and found with the 168gr loads just did not do it for me. The loads were at max, bullet speed still on the slow side , accuracy was good and improved as bullet speed increased but recoil that made rapid fire a little less rapid. Not the feel I was looking for with this rifle. Its pretty nimble for a 308 and I want a solid easy shooten 300 yd rifle. Been loading for bolt carbines for years and going lite with bullet has worked well so I thought lets see how this semi auto likes it. Been working with two different bullets, the 100gr Lapua CEHP & the 135gr Sierra MK. The rifle seems to like these and working on refining my loads. The 100gr Lapua load is the front runner, " flat,fast,accutate and recoil that is so smooth.....feels good. So if you are or had been loading "lite" loads would like to here feedback, pro,cons, loads. And by the way, Sierra will soon have a 125gr Match King. Something new to play with.
