I hate to keep running this post out, but I haven't found another thread that covers this exactly. Anyway, I measured the thickness of the rail above the charging handle. My AP-4 measures 5mm and my SASS is 3.5mm, so the AP4 rail is taller. That means it's older, but more aftermarket quadrails will fit it also, right?

Oh yeah. I forgot about that. I can't find any info on the height of the forearm. Guess I'll know when it gets here. I don't even know what my rifles are. I measure the thickness of the rail above the charging handle right?

First, thanks for all the input. I looked into several of the models you guys mentioned. Troy has one similiar. This one could be an older, discontinued DPMS model. I'm just looking into lightening my SASS a bit. It's 16 lbs with the glass on it. I dont use any of the side rails and only use the front of the bottom rail to mount my bi-pod. What do you guys think about the Carbon-Fiber forearms? I'll try to repost the pic of my 308's. Since then I've added another AP4 and put better glass on the SASS.

Thanks. I have a DPMS 308 SASS and 2 LR308 AP-4's. I posted pics when I joined. The SASS is really nose-heavy and I'm looking to change out the forearm if I can find one like this. It does look like a DPMS lock ring. The ad was on GB awhile back.

Hi. This is from an ad for a DPMS LR-308. I like this forearm but I can't find one like it anywhere. The ad specifically said that it is not YHM. I want one with a top monorail like this and removable side & bottom rails. Troy has one similiar, but has a huge locking clamp on the bottom. I can't see that YHM has anything for the 308. thanks

OK, I just bought the Nikon M-308 with mount. Any advice on zeroing it? Is it different with the 20moa slope mount?

So which one is better? I was going to get the M-308 with BDC-800 reticle. I found this one onine for $519.00, I think it includes the Nikon 1-pc mount too (with rebate). The mount has a 20 MOA slope built in, what does that do?

Hi, I've been reading posts here for awhile, finally decided to join up. I have 2 DPMS LR-308 AP4's (1 stock, other has a few add-ons) and just finished building a DPMS 308 SASS (with a few upgrades). Now I just need to get some Trigger Time. Which is funny, I think there's a gun range here named exactly that.
