Amen, many LEO's already think they are above the law, this just reenforces it in their minds. More criminals are shot by citizens than LEO's. Many more crimes are stopped by armed citizens than LEO's. Check out John Lott's numbers on the subject. Also do some research on police actions in New Orleans during Katrina, SHTF these LEO's will be using the AW's to protect their families, Joe Average will be on his own. Basic tenant of Communism, all are equal, some are just more equal than others.

Man, cleaning my AP4 yesterday, like a fool had the bolt still in and locked back and went to wipe sone grime from the chamber. Rocked it against the bolt release and home she slammed, with my left middle finger caught by that nice sharp bolt. Blood city! Note to self, remove bolt every time fingers go in chamber!

Follow up on this trigger. Dropped right in, first AR trigger I've installed, couldn't be easier. Slight amount of creep and then a clean break at first. After about 100rds creep was gone and just a nice break. About 8lbs, fine for a battle trigger. Much better than the long creep factory trigger.

Can't stand the stock grip on my AP4, the finger swell just doesn't work for me. Any one have a recmmendation of a good drop in smooth front grip? Normal sized hands. Thanks

Supposedly fits standard AR's, does come with pins. I'm not a AR guy, except for this AP4. I just want a crisp break with no creep. Don't mind the weight as its a defense and hunting rifle for me. Even though I'm getting .75 groups with Federal match and my handloads, a crisper trigger might make that a little better. Never expected this rifle to outshoot my Rem 700. Supposedly these are a "full" hammer not a "notched" hammer, whatever that means, don't know if thats a plus with a .308. I did have a few FTF with light strikes the last time out, don't know if my bolt being dirty caused it or something else. Was considering Bill Springfield, and still might send my stock trigger to him as well.

Thanks for the advice. The DPMS chamber issue is strange, it seems backwards but appears to be able to shoot .308 or 7.62x51 I need their 7.62 chamber. Which rules out most of the bull/fluted barrels. I'm leaning towards the LR308(T), any opinions on that rifle?

Thanks, I'm now considering getting it in A3 config with the FA and dust cover. It does have the fixed stock, which will be quieter, and does not have a front sight.. The barrel will be 18", am I correct in assuming the flash hider on the 16" barrel makes it pretty much as long as the 18"?

Howdy, A friend tried to sell me a stag arms 5.56. I passed as the accuracy wasn't what I would want and the 5.56 round is fine for groundhogs. but not a caliber I'm interested in. But I was very taken with the AR platform, and seeing how I already reload and shoot .308 I started looking at .308 AR's. AM leaning towards a DPMS AP4, with a couple of questions. 1.Should I order the removable hanguard or the free float tube? I din't plan to hang any rails on it. 2. Will I be happy with the 16" barrel, I intend the rifle to be for defense, huntiing deer out to 300yds. 3. Will I see the front site with a 3x9 scope, or would I be better off ordering a model without the site. 4. Do I really need the foward assist and dust cover and shell deflector, or should I just go with the sportical for about $150 less. 5. Has DPMS solved any Mag issues they have, or should I buy mags from other vendors. Thanks for the help, looking foward ti buying this rifle.
