  1. Hi, I just checked Armalite's Web Site, and they offer a 338 federal. Specs on that round are a little better than a 308, but Iam not sure, given all the 308 reloading stuff out there, if worth it. later vince.
  2. Hi, I am new here, and what Imchur said is 100% dead on. I just got a Armalite Stripped lower, and Quality is Great. I found some great deals on Gunbroker, GunsAmerica, Auction Arms. You have to be quick, because stuff goes fast. I got my receiver on GunsAmerica, and it was sold, but the Buyer backed out, and I got a great deal. Would it be cheaper to buy a complete gun? Yes, maybe, but you will get alot of satisfaction after you pull the trigger, of the the one you built. Just be careful and ask questions, these guys on this Forum have the Answers, they have helped me. later vince.
  3. Hi again, yeah I meant .300 win mag in a bolt gun. The Bullets are .308 dia. Powder is different, in 300 win mag, much slower, and alot of it. later vince.
  4. Hi Pal, well they are different, but not by much. I would say stay with .308,and there is mountains of load info out there, and you can use military brass. I have been reloading, for a few years, for bolt guns and M1As( I got got my first AR10, building another). You will find, that you have to trim your brass, for Semi-Autos, once you get OAL, (Over All Length) You got it. Lots of Deals on Surplus Bullets( Pulled) Brass, ect. out there. .308 the way to for sure, I would also look into his big brother, the .300 Win. Mag. You will like him too. Later vince.
  5. Thats exactly what I was thinking. I purchased another Armalite A2 upper, at a great price, and since Armalite barrels are hard to locate, I figured I would ask. Great Info, that helps out alot, Thanks Pal.
  6. Just joined today. I recently purchased a AR10 A2, very nice, Shoots excellent, some feeding problems, will sort that out through reloading. Spent 7yrs. in the Army, never big fan of 5.56. Looking forward to getting to know all. thanks vince.
