  1. http://www.kriegerbarrels.com/M_110_Service_Rifle-c1246-wp6474.htm I see that Krieger is offering the M-110 rifle barrels for $350 bucks (unchambered) and an additional $100 to chamber. After that is there anything else that needs to be done to the barrel other than adding the gas block? Either way I thought it was an interesting find.
  2. Yeah that is reason #1 I won't be getting the KAC. That build you have there is pretty much exactly what I want (other than just an A-2 stock which will probably be a couple bucks cheaper anyway). Did that price include you scope and mounts? Do you mind sharing the details of that thing with me. That would be right in my price range, leaving some room for ammo and mags. Thanks
  3. Yeah I am looking at getting a DPMS model. Found some at the local gun stores, also had a R-25 there too. Just checking out the different options. I am almost certainly going with the DPMS style over the Armalite style. $40 mags are just ridiculous.
  4. I know that Bushmaster makes the R-25 for Remington, but from what I can tell Remington only offers that dopey paint scheme one. Bushmaster on the other hand does not offer a 20" barrel of their own that I can find. Am I just missing it. I guess my real question is this. Is there a black (or tan) R-25 offered? I like the R-25, but I am not keen on spending that money for a rifle I will have to change the rail on and paint.
  5. I really like that Mega Ma-Ten, my only hang up is finding an FFL here to do the transfer for me. Also pricing the build it myself vs the buy one built, it will cost more to do it myself lol. The whole FFL thing is a big hang up though. But I am hoping to get approval for my own FFL and then that won't be an issue ever again ;D
  6. I wrote magpul a few days ago to check out if they had any mags for the Armalite AR-10, and this is the email they sent back. Sounds like they might be developing a PMag for the AR-10.
  7. Every time I read this I just hope a little more that my FFL comes through. Gun Shop owners (at least around here) are usually complete jack asses or don't know anything outside of their comfort zone. Anyway, as stated, he is probably stuck in the past.
  8. I am not convinced either way yet. I guess since I can't go with the KAC rail anyway, I will see what rails can go on the DPMS rifle and perhaps go from there. The Daniel Defense Lite Rail is pretty nice. I'll be stopping by a couple guns shops tomorrow to check some stuff out.
  9. Thanks, lots of good info. I have written both Magpul and C-Products to see if they make mags for the Armalite type 308, but since I am impatient I will ask here. Who other than Armalite makes mags for the Armalite AR-10? I really don't want to pay 30-40 bucks for a magazine. I think I am going to go with the Armalite with a daniel defense lite rail, but just want to be sure that 1) I don't have mag issues and 2) my mags don't cut into my ammo money lol.
  10. I am kind of new to the 308 AR world so feel free to correct me where I have confused things. So I want an SR-25, but I (like most people) don't have $4500 dollars laying around, so I am "settling" on a clone, or as close as I can get. I have a few questions. From what I can tell there are two basic groups of 308/AR-10s, the DPMS and the Armalite. Will the KAC rail fit either the AR-10 from Armalite or the LR208 from DPMS? Will c-product mags and pmags work in both of them or just in the DPMS? From what I can tell I can use the DPMS and have the good mags but not the rail, although I could use the Troy MRF-308 rail which is very similar instead. Or I can use the Armalite and get the actual rail but be stuck with possible magazine problems. Thanks for any advice or answers.
  11. Hey guys, I am obviously new to the forum and also new to 308 ARs. I have a ton of experience with M-16/AR-15s, but am just learning about the AR-10. Firearms backround. I did five years (99-04) in the USMC as a helicopter crew chief (door gunner). A couple tours overseas. I am now a certified Smith and Wesson Armorer working for a test company in NY testing firearms. Anyway, seems like a cool place to me around here so I joined.
