  1. Mine came in last week, took it to the range yesterday to sight in and test magazines and general function. Hardly any recoil shooting from unsupported standing or sitting with the sling pulled up tight around my left arm. The Magpul magazines are flawless. One of the DPMS magazines cracked off a lip when I inserted it into the rifle fully loaded. The gun itself seems great, so far. I'll be taking it out every opportunity for the next couple or three months until I'm satisfied there are no "bugs" to be worked out. Sighted in the iron sights yesterday at just 50 yards and it groups as well as my Bushmaster .223 with full heavy 20" barrel. Will work on getting the scope sighted in out to 300 next time out, Tasco 5-20x50AO in medium tall rings.
  2. This seems like the place to ask a very similar question. I've been shooting .223 AR's since the late 60's but have never owned or even fired a .308 AR and want to buy one now. I'm looking first at what Bud's calls "DPMS RFLR308 PTHR LR308 308FXD". If that piece is reliable and accurate, that seems like a great buy. If it isn't, 100% reliable, the next choice is a lot more expensive in the Armalite. But if that's the cost of reliability I'll pay the extra money rather than deal with the frustrations. Anyone have information on both rifles that they are willing to share with a newbie ? I'll appreciate the help.
