  3. Hi again... if ur in the area of southern oklahoma or north Texas let's chat maybe we could shoot sometime. This is hot calling guys <thumbsup>
  4. Ah.. ok Ive prettt much figured out the whole risers thing... ill just stick with my risers... if she works good i won't touch abother thing. Thanks for the comments again guys.
  5. Sounds fun.. ill have to try it out. I have one question... u see on mine how I have risers and then scope rings.? What type of mounts are there to eliminate the use of risers. I've seen all these other 308 ars with just ring mounts... what is it they use??
  6. I recently saw a leapers on a tac20 dpms classic. On the dpms forums. I was thinking of something along the lines of that.
  7. Haha thanks guys. I'm getting some nice steel swinging targets made soon. So ill post some shooting stuff up later. I'm new to AR style rifles so Ill take any tips if Yall see I need any. <thumbsup>
  8. Hi again. I recently checked out some leapers/utg scopes wither the turrets on top for sigting in. What is the best scope like that for the price and durability??the reason i feel this is a better scope than my bushnell is that. It would help with variable distance changes in coyote hunting.
  9. Anything I'm doing wrong?? <dontknow>
  10. My DPMS LR 308 classic. Has utg scope risers and handguards and bipod. Bushnell banner scope and dpms front gas block and rails. Tell me what u think.
  11. Hi. I was wondering in you guys opinions whatis the best scope mounts I can use to give me close to 2 inches from the A2 stock to the bottom of the scope? I recently bought some utg scope risers from the cheaper than dirt store and when i put them on it just looks really high and weird. The setup i had before were just a 1 inch ar 15 riser with my Bushnell banner scope and rings that are cheap. I have a dpms lr 308 classic. I did find some barska ones from gender mountain. But they are 44 dollars. Thanks for your input.I don't know aboit you guys but i think the scope and rings you have really set a gun off. Thanks
  12. OK. Thanks guys :). I will be shooting .308 165-168 grain ammo through it more than than the 7.62NATO. But I talked to a guy that runs a shooter supply and he said they put tougher bolts in the DPMS guns. And that nothing will happen with shooting any .308 ammo. But the 165-168 grains will be my best bet for hunting or other stuff. I shot an M1A at a gun range in Oklahoma City, and it was chambered in 7.62NATO, and we shot .308s through without any trouble. And this gun was used a lot of times, judging by the wear and tear on it. One last question. What type of Match Grade 7.62NATO should i get? For buying lots of it.
  13. What is the best 7.62 NATO like surplus for plinking? and are there anything like pressures from different ammo that i should worry about? and i am going on info from you. meaning you have had experience with your own DPMS gun? and is it chambered in .308 win? or 7.62 Nato? my father and good friend are constantly worried about both the rounds being shot through it. So please just try and put it in a good easy to put sentence. I plan on showing this to my dad and friend. Thank you. Remember your ammo experience with ammos and all that good stuff.
  14. Hi guys. I am very new to the forum and i just ordered a DPMS LR 308 Classic. It is chambered in 7.62NATO. With that being said, i looked at the other thread about the compatability in these new Semi-auto rifles. QUESTION: Can I shoot any type of .308 winchester or other .308 through my DPMS Rifle chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO? AND what are some tips and maybe some techniques to use when getting the most out of my DPMS rifle. I am really using it for hunting and other fun shooting plinking activities ;D. Especially for Coyote hunting. I would rather pick those lil varmints up with a shovel rather than go off and find them <lmao>. So thank you for your input. <thumbsup>
