  1. You wont be using that trigger guard cause theres one built into the lower.
  2. Yep, I got two caldwell muffs for christmas, cant wait to try em, I usually just use the plugs from work. I hope it don't hurt naked ears that bad cause I want to hunt with it someday!
  3. Yeah, I think im gonna take the trijicon off the little AR and put it on this one and buy a nikon M223 to put back on the little AR.
  4. Yep, Matt thats exactally what it is, just the begining! Muh hahaha!! I hope to have a fox and coyote to go with it. Im 32 and just started predator hunting last year and ended up with 3 yotes and Mr. Bobcat, I hope to have a better year this season but the fox seems to be the most elusive. Actually I thought this was a fox when I shot because the eyes were close together and small so I put the hairs between his eyes and then shot (well after the stupid click that could have got me busted part) I herd a crash and thrash then went to look (12 ft or so, not far) and I had hit him right in the chest, I think he sat down on his hind end just before I shot. It was probably a good 60 yd shot and I was in a wooden treestand. He was an easy 35 lbs! I love it!!!
  5. Just thought I'd share pics of the Bobcat I got last december, I just got it back this week! I got him in PA at night with a Marlin bolt action (can't use semi in PA) .22 Mag It was colder than you know what and darker than you know what, and the first time I squezed the trigger my gun went click and not bang!! I guess the wires to the light stopped the bolt or something?
  6. Yes I know, and I love the shack but there seems to be a whole lot to the CB radio stuff. Like, I do not know how to 'tune' a tunable antenna for whatever swr, or what a 'loaded' antenna is or 'ground plane' and seems like duals need to be a certin distance apart. I could go with one but i like to keep it symmetrical to look good, I have dual exhaust, why not dual antennas! HA HA!
  7. I wasn't sure where I could post this, best I can think of, cause it is "off topic" I have an 04 Silverado and want a CB radio in it. Also I do not want a cheesy magnetic mount antenna. I'd like to have dual antennas whipin in the wind! Any one here up on CB radios and antennas? I don't know how they are split or where I would mount them or where I could run the cables? Have you done this? help me out please! Also, not sure whats a good radio to get, I know someof them you can mod and hack to get more power out of it but seems like that would shorten its life or damage something. I'm lost and confused.
  8. I like them too, but for my application they do not apply because no use having QD mount withough BUIS, and the rifle I'm building dosen't have a gas block rail so theres nowhere to put a front sight anyway!
  9. Yes it is the bennie cooley one, (not sure who they are?) this one: http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=231940 I am aware that it will be louder, and I am honestly a bit concerned about that if I hunt with it because of course I don't wear earplugs hunting but I do of course while just shooting. Speaking of, I want to upgrade to muffs instead of the pod plugs I get from work sometime but plugs have worked well and served their purpose well, so hopefully they are still enough for now.
  10. Yes I think it looks good too! I kinda wish I could shoot it before the brake and after to see exactally how it does and compare the differences. All the reviews I have read on it are great, so I'm pretty confident that it will do its job.
  11. HA HA, yeah I looked through it and seen the timney too for $7.50 and thought, dang! Cool find man, neat!
  12. I've been thinking of what mount for the 308 too. First I was going to go with the burris PEPR but now I think I'll go with JP like i have on the little AR. Thanks for that link, its neat!
  13. Nope, its 18'', the DMPS SASS barrel Brake has to be permanently attached to comply with the dumb ass NY laws. We also cant have colapisable or folding stocks, flash hiders, bayo lugs, fore grips, or mags that hold more than 10! If I ever got pulled over and had this with me I do not want them to have any reason to try and take it, its totally legal! I do have 2 AR-15 lowers sitting around waiting to be build and I'd like to build them as twin M-Forgery carbine types since I already have a rifle type, but thats risky, but I really would like to have adjustable stock so wifey can shoot more easily.
  14. IDK if I'll hunt with it or what I'll hunt with it, could use it for deer here in NY and that would be so much diffrent than a 30-30 , some time i wanna go south and shoot pigs i hunt coyotes too here in NY/PA but i think this may be a bit much for that. I had it dipped at a place called tarjac in waterloo, NY i drove there and it was dipped piece by piece not assembled which i do not rec comend, i say paint then assemble. Thanks!
  15. Hello all, I have been looking for a 308 forum and ar15.com aint that great for the 308's so I googled it and here I am! Heres a couple pics of my first 308, I built it myself over time as I could afford a part here and there. Its ready to go to the smith for finishing touches, such as torque the barrel down and install a stud and forward assist and port cover, and perm attach the brake, then I'm gonna do barrel break in. I'm still not sure what scope to go with yet though?!?!? Its DPMS all the way with SASS barrel and JP brake. Had it camo dipped for a cool paintjob.
