  1. Bolt arrived today and its very nice. Has JP shot peened(?) on bolt body. Fit and finish were very nice. Bolt functioned flawlessly in my DPMS carrier. Overall, very happy with it and worth the wait.
  2. Retired Lt...GRPD Mich...30 years...enjoying a normal life again! :)
  3. After 5 month wait I received notice that my bolt has shipped and will be here Monday! Can't wait to see what I waited so long for. :)
  4. I have a DPMS Mk 12 and have been happy with it. Thought it was a little heavy at first but wife has a RRA Elite Operator 223 and the Mk 12 is very close in weight. It shoots anything I put in it and the only malfunctions are caused when I use a brass catcher and the brass doesn't completely clear the ejection port due to the bag. It likes the 150 Hornady reloads I use and once I dialed in my SWFA it shot this 5 shot group (Bottom 5 were zeroing scope) at 100 yds. I recently added an Atlas bipod and a BCM CH. The trigger is scary light unlike the RRA heavier two stage trigger pull on wife's gun. I use the DPMS and Magpul P mags in it with no problems.
  5. JP bolt...wish SI-Defense hadn't taken down their web store until January. I was really interested in their coated BCGs. Hate to think what they will cost after the SHOT show! :o
  6. Bolts from any manufacturer are scarcer than hens teeth right now. I have a JP enhanced 308 bolt on backorder and was curious if anyone has one and your thoughts. I plan to use my DPMS carrier. Rifle is a DPMS MK 12. I see some members have used the JP in their builds but couldn't find any specific feedback.
  7. Not sure what is considered a 'budget scope' but I currently use a SWFA 3-9x40 FFP mil/mil and a Vortex Viper PST 6-24X50 EBR-1 MOA on my DPMS MK 12. Both have very good glass and are more than sufficient for me. My eyesight sucks (getting old sucks) so the Vortex makes 300m and beyond much easier for me. Both are under 1K so you don't have to take out a second mortgage to get one. Using ADM RECON mounts on both scopes makes switching easy and they return to zero nicely each time. Both companies have good warranty and customer service which was also important to me.
  8. Hello from W. Michigan! Enjoy reading about what others have done with their 308 AR platform rifles. Appreciate some of the good information I have found on this site.
